Show of hands time! given that we are w well refined gaming crowd. We are pretty much 100% of this products target audience, here on this site. Who here actually gives a rats ass what the physical casing of the console looks like? I mean really, in this day and age? is there anyone here outside of an industrial design major, who even notices the elegant sweep of the curves or sharp angles on the casing, or the distinctive font used on it? It's a box. It has a slot for a CD type media. A USB port or two. An HDMI port, A power cable, a power button, and nothing that can be even marginally associated with a red ring of death. As long as it doesn't have a Furry Porn picture printed on its side I don't think many of us really give a crap what the damn thing looks like.

I think the scarier thing in all of this, is that SONY probably paid some marketing firm way to much money to come up with this pointless and clueless teaser. That teases nothing that we even begin to care about.

Can somebody who is good with an image program like Photoshop or G.I.M.P. please put this mess together into something that makes sense? (And sharpen it, too - that blur filter is heavy on the eyes).

You're not going to get much more out of that than freeze-frames on the details, and a slightly less blurry black box. There's a lot you can do with Photoshop, but this would require CSI: Miami levels of PS magic.

Holy blurry black box of mystery. I wonder how many years/months/weeks until we get to see someone blow it apart with a shotgun on youtube. Teaser video is utterly pointless. I like the Youtube comments defending it..."that why it's a TEASER dumbass" as if the people making fun of it don't know what a freaking teaser is. 39sec waste of time, is what it is. I doubt people could care less about what the box looks like, compared to the actual games that are going to be with it at launch.

At the moment people seem to be more concerned with what it doesn't have (backwards compatibility) and added extra crap that it doesn't need for the sake of forced social integration, or showing off tech implementation (touchpad?!? next to analogue sticks??)

Now why does anybody care what the goddamn thing looks like? It's just the housing box for the hardware, you won't be gazing at this thing while you're actually playing it. And if you don't like how it looks just cover it with a paper bag, it won't affect playability at all.

so we are getting a teaser of a teaser of a teaser now? lol, why bother reporting on that kind of crap to begin with. is the hype really working? i think the most supporters sony got was not for anything sony did but for MS having a always online rumor to begin with.

Yay, it's a black/dark gray box with shiny gray bits on it... I really wish modern consoles would come in more colors then dark gray/black and white, like they did in the N64/Gamecube days. Even the WiiU is guilty of only being Black and White! I want colors!

While covering your ps4 with a paper bag is acceptable, don't cover your xbox720 with a paper bag unless you want to collect on your fire insurance.

Honestly, I think it's gonna look really nice. Sony's pretty good at designing their consoles. Not that it matters much.

And to those who are complaining "ehhhh, fuckin', 'sjust a black square whatever": this probably wouldn't have even merited a teaser if everyone on Earth hadn't shat themselves that they didn't show the actual console in February.

Honestly it was better than the Xbox One reveal, and wasted less of my time. Seriously, do these people think they are releasing some amazing, life changing device? I'm into gaming and all, but the level of hype being slung about is absolutely ridiculous.
