So Playstation has released it's website where it looks at your PSN account and gives you a cool little summary of all the things you did (on Playstation at least) this year.

Here is the link in which you can check yourself out. http://play.st/3pGNJ41

Here are my stats for the year. https://www.wrapup.playstation.com/...328ae91ece498582851c4dab389e739e41fb5c77fcfd/ #MyPSYear2020

It's kind of cool that they do this, I dunno if Xbox does something similar or not, but either way this is a fun little thing to be able to share on forums and twitter and stuff.

I can now brag that i earned 576 trophies this year and 6 platinums. Which is cool considering this is the year that I got my first platinum and started really digging into trying to complete trophy lists for a few stand out games.

Jesus, 2348 hours total. Is that supposed to include Netflix/Prime hours?
Played 336 days of the year. Again, is that "turned on PS4 336 days of the year" or "ran games 336 days of the year"?

1600 some hours with only 20some games. Fun times.

And yeah I think it definitely counts things like netflix or crunchyroll, back a couple years ago I used to watch a lot off my ps4 and that shot it up something crazy. It was also the year I caught up with about 400 one piece episodes in the period of July, so that adds up lol.

How is the Legends of Heroes game? I've always looked at it from the sideline but never tried one. It's a jrpg right?

Oh yeah it's my game of the year easy, it's about as orthodox and hearful a classic golden era turn based jrpg as you can imagine, but with more complex story and world situations. It's a conclusion to 8 games worth of some of the best story and worldbuilding, also insane amount of content and character development. The NPCs in the world even have backstories and a metric ton of lines which get updated after every minor thing you do, so you wanna go around and talk to every npc in every area over and over and follow along with their lives as you go on doing quests and dealing with the main plot.

The main plot deals with politics in a world which up until about 80 years ago was a medieval society but due to a breakthrough in deciphering ancient magical technology has transitioned into a post-industrial society, so you have the dynamic of people who are still used to fighting as knights on horseback having to face a world where now tanks vastly outperform them. That of course brings political issues such as the nobility losing power to the commoners, and there's lots of trouble including mercenaries and expansionist wars and so on. There's a peacekeeping organization that's kinda like the UN which prioritizes the safety of the civilians in occasions of conflict which is your introduction to this world in the Sky games, and the cold steel games in particular deal with the most warmongering of nations which up until that point was the origin of conflict, it feels like you're playing on the side of the bad guys when you think about it before you play it, but then the nuance hits you, they show how it is trying to change its ways from within, forming the first class of cross-caste military students, and it follows their story trying to understand eachother and move their country to the future as they do.

Though if you wanna get into it you wanna start at the beginning because the games are a direct continuation of eachother, and in such a way where games end in MAJOR cliffhangers with nothing resolved, so it's the sort of thing where you wanna get into it with the intention of playing all of the games in the saga. This is kinda why this game is so enjoyable, it's concluding 4 games worth of events all by itself, also some other ones from the older entries in the saga on top of it too. That playtime you see there is just out of a single completionist run, no grinding or anything was done to get it up to that number, it just has that much stuff lol.

Also, it is highly recommended to go through the Trails in the Sky games first because they are the start of the saga and they set up the world, they're also excellent games in their own right and available on steam for pretty cheap by this point. You won't "need" need the knowledge of their games for the first couple of cold steel games since only 2 of the main characters play a major role in cold steel, but in cold steel 4 you have plot points from trails in the sky getting resolved, some 15 years later, so you can imagine the impact that that has.

Sounds like a lot to catch up on. I see the Trails of steel are on PSN, but the Trials of the SKy are on Steam and they look like tactic style rpg's which I hate.

Nah it's not tactics, it looks like tactics. It's a traditional turn based jrpg, you just have skills contain area of effect traits so it's a little bit more complex since you can move around in the area but it's actually streamlined where as long as you are in range the character will auto-move themselves in range for their skill, and some skills have area of effects but have to target an enemy and be centered around them, while others you can place so you can hit more enemies, but it's really the same as just picking a target in any old jrpg, the presentation is just more tactical.

The system is pretty much the same at is core in cold steel too, only with some added refinements, the presentation is just different (you don't see the squares on the ground) but it's still mechanically the same. It mainly differs only when you cast aoe spells or skills in that you gotta manually aim them and you can dodge some OP moves by moving out of the way and stuff like that, other than that you just pick a command and a target like normal.

But yeah basically, it's turn based jrpg combat, it just has an aspect of range and area of effect attached.

I always find these kind of things funny, because as someone who barely plays console games, it is always funny to have some big fancy site, proudly exclaim how I played 58 hours of PS4 games this year. Or how incredible it is that my third most-played PS4 game this year, was 3 hours in The Last of Us Remastered. Wow

I do hope that they do something like this for PC, but with so many different platforms, I don't really see it happening for anything other than Steam, and even that will be inaccurate.

Ah well, at least that free Dynamic theme looks super clean. I'll be using that.

63% locally played, that's surprising, considering all I did during lock down was online matches with the boys. Amazing how it all adds up in the end. Not as interesting as a Spotify round up but its a cool little thing.

They do - or at least did.

If I recall, in 2018, I played a whole 14 hours on my Xbox One, and all of that was a playthrough of Halo Combat Evolved with my girlfriend, and a little bit of Halo 2.

Goes to show how much I used that console.

I think it got canned for 2019, and I can't see anything of it for 2020 - so I guess not.

I do really enjoy these kind of things though. I have no idea why Nintendo's was NA only. I would have liked to have seen that one.

Yeah, 53 hours here! In a year! But I finished Tell Tale Batman, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Detroit Almost Human in that time. I got 23 games from PS+ over the year. I wonder if I missed anything. It's nice to have but I do most of my gaming on PC. @CriticalGaming They have a theme for free too. I reclaimed it and will load it on one of my PS4's asap. ITMT: you have a PS5? I'm jealous. Some day.

It was weird because i pre-ordered, then they cancelled my pre-order, then like two weeks after the console launched they said my order was shipped and i got it. I have no clue WTF they were doing.
