I'm really troubled by the comments around the interwebs about this story. The complaint itself is kind of silly - it *is* just an iPhone toy and probably shouldn't be taken so seriously.
But the responses from all the entitled little fucks who turn around and say "NO ONE WOULD CARE OF THEY WERE WHITE" and other absurd, ancient and refuted arguments is very worrisome.
Refuted? Refuted
when? Name one game where you kill white people and it caused an uproar?
If you're dressed as a ghost and killing people, I can see your anger, but until it is justified, shut up.
because, its apperantly fair to be racist to white people as we have somehow built up the worst reputation of being racist (though thats just gunna go around in circles) i just like to ignore racism as its never gunna end and always gunna be yelled out by the town crier, sadly when i ignore racism and someone somehow sees me doing something they see racist (maybe i was i really dont care but chances are i wasnt at least not in my eyes) i tend to tell them somme profane things, and maybe seem more racist if they are of a different race, yay my rant is coming to an end, im gunna close it with, why the f**k should anyone care anymore about racism we have gotten to a point where races are now living together almost internationaly, so i dont see why it should even be here (maybe because some cannot let go >.>)
That's close to my opinion. I figure that as long as people like heintzer (above) are around, claiming that all whites are racist against everyone, and it's impossible to be racist against a white, there will be racism. But I completely ignore race. I have black friends, white friends, asian friends, australian friends (and, though it isn't under "race", I felt I'd point out I also have friends in wheelchairs)... No British friends (at least, not that I know personally), because the one British person I've met was an irritable A$$hole. Doesn't have to do with their race, just that I hated them as a person.
I judge people as people. If you're a dick, you're a dick, and I don't care about your opinion regardless.
I'll admit, I may be subtly racist in that I try to avoid the issue of race when I'm around anyone of a different race, but because that's a rare enough subject as it is, I'm normally fine. Though, you cannot (actually, you probably
can) imagine how uncomfortable it was to go through the "Civil Rights Movement" (including the rise of the KKK) with someone who was black sitting right next to me in class. It did give me an interesting perspective on it, though, because I wondered how
they saw this, when it was a group they belonged to being persecuted. (P.S.: They didn't care. They basically paid as much attention as you could expect anyone else their age to.)
