Pokemon Bank Launches in Europe, Still Waiting on NA

While Nintendo of Europe announces Pokemon Bank has launched, Nintendo of America has said nothing yet.

Nintendo of Europe announced this morning that the long-awaited Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter app are available to download from the Nintendo eShop immediately in Europe. The service is also available in Australia and New Zealand. The European release follows the relaunch of Pokemon Bank in Japan.

Pokemon Bank first launched in Japan on Dec. 25 and was The Japanese app relaunched on Jan. 21. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/130840-Nintendo-Removes-Pokemon-Bank-From-Japan-3DS-eShop]

The Pokemon Bank app allows users to store Pokemon in online cloud storage, and Poke Transporter allows the transfer of Pokemon from Black/White and Black 2/White 2 to X and Y. Pokemon Bank will require a $5 yearly subscription fee, but it comes with a 30-day free trial.

European Pokemon masters can download the app now, and its free trial will run until Mar. 14. After the free trial ends, the yearly subscription will cost £4.49/€4.99/$4.99. Nintendo of America has yet to release any information about the status of the North American version of Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter and has not said anything further concerning the apps since Jan. 21 when it announced the apps were available in some Asian countries and asked people to stay tuned.

Heh. According to the GameFAQs pokemon boards, this is the latest in a long line of instances. The boards are rife with fury over Europe being given it before NA. To a rather dismaying degree.

The only question I have on all this is: Will the free Celebi offer be extended due to the delays for Pokemon Bank?

Free Celebi is available until September so why would it be extended?

OT: Aaaand my 3DS is currently being repaired by Nintendo. I'll just sit here and cry until it returns.

I'm happy that Europeans didn't get the shaft for once, but I also find it sad that Nintendo for some reason can't seem to coordinate to where all 3 regions don't get screwed over when it comes to releases. But if any continent and region deserves more attention to release schedules it's definitely Europe and Australia.

Over a MONTH, Nintendo. Over a fucking month. Shit like this is why all your money is going down the drain, because you can't coordinate for shit, your online services are unstable as shit, and for some goddamn reason you think you can rest on your laurels and just keep on screwing over your customers. Stop acting so surprised you're losing the war with Sony and Mocrosoft, at least they don't pull anything like THIS.

Yea, no free celebi from what I've seen yet. Just pokemiles.

EDIT: DERPED! YOu do get a free celebi after the initial surprise of pokemiles or battle points.

Speaking as someone who lives in Canada, I'm happy for Europe. Doesn't really bother me that they get it before we do. At least they got something first from Nintendo for once. Just means I have more people to trade monsters from previous gens with, besides all the Japanese players that I got starters and other cool junk from.

Nintendo is still retarded though. For other reasons.

It pleases me immensely to see Americans who normally dont blink an eye at staggered release schedules(Because they're usually first), spitting nails and fuming over how the company should really be able to release it everywhere at once.

Kind of annoying to be waiting for a company to decide your business is worth their time, eh chaps?

I can't say I'm overly annoyed. I want the bank, but if it comes today or next week or two weeks from now I'm not that concerned.

Does anyone know what happens to your Global Link if you reset your copy of X/Y? I've already synced my copy of X, but friends want some of the X exclusive stones for their own use. So I plan to reset a few times to trade them away before a final reboot of the game to actually have a save slot for myself. Will the Global Link break because it doesn't recognise my trainer ID/ GL code anymore?

I find the rage ensuing over this to be immensely hilarious. And I'm an American.

Calm your tits, everyone. We'll get it sooner or later. I'm just happy that SOMEONE finally got it.

I do too. Honestly, I am not worried about Europe getting Pokebank before NA. Our time will come.
