Pokemon X/Y Fancy Vivillon Giveaway Celebrates 100,000,000th Global Trade

The fancy patterned Vivillon cannot be found in the wild and is available to all Pokemon X/Y players for free for a limited time.

Pokemon trainers with a copy of Pokemon X or Pokemon Y are now able to pick up a special Vivillon via Mystery Gift. The Pokemon Company notes it won't be available for long, so don't forget to start up your Pokemon game if you've left it sitting for a while since completing the game.

Vivillon is a Pokemon that have a different pattern depending on the region of the player. This giveaway includes a Fancy Pattern Vivillon, shown to the right. The Pokemon Company thanked all Pokemon trainers making trades through the Global Trade Station. The Fancy Pattern Vivillon commemorates the 100,000,000th Pokemon traded via GTS.

To obtain the Fancy Pattern Vivillon:

1. Connect your Nintendo 3DS system to the Internet.
2. Select Mystery Gift on the main menu.
3. Select Receive Gift, then Yes.
4. Select Get Via Internet, then Yes.
5. Watch as you receive Fancy Pattern Vivillon!
6. Speak to the delivery girl in any PokƩmon Center to receive your Vivillon.
7. Be sure to save your game!

The Pokemon Company noted that Vivillon "won't be available for long." If you want it, make sure to do so today. Fancy Pattern Vivillon will not be available in the wild.

According to Serebii, the promotion runs until July 31st,
but thank you for the news update, I would have missed it otherwise.

They haven't been giving away nearly as many Pokemon over wifi this gen, so I've mostly been ignoring my game after I finished it.

Yeah, I kinda wish it had more replay value. I spent some time breeding and trading Pokemon after I beat the game, but my interest died pretty fast after that. There really should be some kind of NG+ or something in future titles.

Nice, snagged mine right now. Nineteen out of twenty Vivillion caught here, the only one I haven't got is the other mystery event (the Pokeball one).

Older versions had post game content, but this gen seemed lacking. I know it had some, but it just didn't seem like as much, the focus was more on competitive online play, which is something I have absolutely no interest in. I did manage to finally get six games worth of Pokemon onto a single version though, now I can't choose who I want to keep in my team.

I toyed with competitive play and I really didn't like it either. The meta game just does not appeal to me at all.

And the day just after we did the Pokemon Podcast as well. Oh well, not like we talked about even Pokemon anyway. Also, Neo, if you're reading this, I'm expecting the Professor Oak series soon! >.>

Anyway, will grab this once I get home, since it gives me an excuse to actually turn on Pokemon Y for me. Honestly it's weird, normally I'm all over Pokemon games for months, but I think Gen VI is my least played Generation so far. I've played Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness more than X or Y. I think for me, it's because the Meta game for X and Y just had really nothing at all. I mean you have Battle Mansion, but that's really it. Other than that it gets really dull, and heck I had more fun with Gen IV's meta game then Gen VI's. I mean, topping B2/W2 with post game stuff would've been difficult, so I wasn't expecting much from X or Y. But what we did get just really left me disappointed. Here's to hoping that the Gen III remakes include Battle Frontier and some possible other meta game things.

You misspelled G/S/C and HG/SS. ;p

OT: Don't really get why they're not making it available for long. But ah well, got mine a few days ago.

Sorry, but while I am a huge Crystal/HG/SS fan, the post game for Black and White 2 beats that one because of the fact of everyone I can fight, and the plethora of content that's in it. For Gen II and the remakes, it was just mainly Kanto for being post game and once you were done with that, which was easy to do, and you beat Red there wasn't much else to do.

But yeah, it's pretty awesome that we get free stuff. Torchic, Serebii, Vivillon. I needed a Vivillon anyhow, too.
