You must have played a different AoE Online than I did. The one I played you paid once per Civ you wanted to play and you were done. Sure there's the cosmetics and the "I'm too terrible to win single player without cheating" upgrades, but neither of those is necessary. Heck, the most popular PvP mode doesn't even use any of the gear.

It just LOOKS like a shitty farmville type game because they have terrible marketing.

I never realised how much I wanted a goat pokemon, but I am guessing that gogoto will definitely be in my team, god that thing looks awesome I would even be fine if it didn't evolve, and the fact you can ride it makes it so much sweeter.

I got in it in the first week or so before they made all the changes and added PvP. But it left enough of a bad taste in my mouth to not return.

Still don't really like the style they have gone to since Black/White. Damn sure prefere the look (and by effect, feel) of the 2d-top-down-ish games. This 3d is just a tad too much.

On the other hand. the fact that i am finally able to ride a rapidash through the streets is cool.

Why did no one think of that sooner?

It's already been said, but like others, ever since I started playing Pokemon back with Gen 1, I've dreamed of playing the game in 3D. It's one of the reasons I loved the Stadium games so much, is because it showed they could do it with the battles, so why not the adventuring/walking around part too.

One thing that shows people ant it, is that there was a fan project I played a few months ago that took the original Gold and Sliver and put it in the 3D plain. It was cool, though it was a bit weird since it was using the old Gameboy color graphics and just made them 3D.

The thing is, this new game is the main reason I will finally be getting a 3DS.

On the other hand, character customization, a fully rendered 3d world and all that new stuff they're showing looks like it'll more than make up for it.

I'm just waiting for the usual crowd that comes in claiming that all the new Pokemon designs look crappy compared to the old.

Hey if games like Wizards 101 can exist, so can this. Besides, most MMO's have strict online policies outlined in titanium, sure some naughty words and assholes get by for a short while but not for long, and for those invested it's not worth their account to break the rules so badly. But honestly if you want a kid online to never be exposed to any of that before aged 13 you better just keep them offline off everything.

If my little brothers browsing history is anything to go by, they're already learning vulgar stuff from friends anyway.

It can exist. It just needs some air tight agreements for the userbase. Any online games are going to have some 13+ Stuff get through as cutesy as it may be. It's just an element of being online, and I'd rather they capitalized on it now before WoW [http://www.pandariainsider.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/wow-pet-battles.jpg] and Digimon [http://mmohuts.com/wp-content/gallery/misc2/digimon.jpg?ec9f9b] beat them to it.

I agree with Gogoat's name sounding a tad bit dumb ("Go, Gogoat!" Man, that does make one sound like Inspector Gadget) I for one love how he looks.

Gogoat, you look awesome. Imma catch you, then I will hop on your back and ride into the night. You also look like a strong physical attacker that's also a grass type. Good, very good; my last grass types certainly leaved a lot to be desired. If you evolve at some point in the future, well that's even better.

But seriously, Gogoat is pretty cool. I'm really hoping he evolves, but I'm also hoping that we can ride a lot more other Pokemon depending on how big they are or whatever.

The panda and lizard look OK, but I don' know if I would use them on my team. Fletchling is definitely going to be on my team, although I hope its evolution is a bit cooler.
