Pokewalker Strategies?

Okay, so if you're going to get SoulSilver or HeartGold, you know it comes with that fickle little pokewalker. So I was wondering what people were going to do with that thing to get more steps? I remember at school a long time ago we got pedometers, so we all sat around shaking them while we did work. I'm thinking I'll use it when I walk, then try and shake it when I'm not doing anything to get the most. What are your ideas?

I just keep it with me all day. I put a Pokemon in it I don't care about and leave it there. In my case it's a Wooper. I get a lot of steps when I wear it to work.

Combine the fact that I'm dirt poor, and it hasn't come out yet, I will be without it for a little while yet. However!!!, when I do get it, I'll probably bounce in my chair while I play on the computer. Or maybe I'll strap it to my ankle and drink large quantities of coffee.

it makes me sad that it doesn't allow one to actually shake it vigorously to make it rapidly gain steps.

My roommate got the game and I suggested an especially violent washing machine.

If you slowly shake your hand it will generate steps. I sometimes do it while driving or idle at work.

A washing machine would probably destroy it.

Join a gym and visit the treadmills for an hour each day. Give it a year and you might make the thousand miles.

I would, but HeartGold and SoulSilver haven't been released in New Zealand.

1. Place in balled up sock for protection.
2. Set tumble dryer to "air only"
3. Place Poke'walker in sock in tumble dryer.
4. Start tumble dryer.
5. ????
6. Profit!

To tell the truth, i have a problem with shaking my foot when i sit down, so i put some socks on, sliped the poke walker onto my sock and started shaking it, i got quite a few steps in it thus far.

According to Bulbapedia, assuming you don't spend any watts and walk 10,000 steps a day it takes 200 days to unlock all the non-event routes. HARSH.

Put it in a plastic bag and then put THAT into a sock, and another sock , and another until you have a thick ball of sock. Put it in the washer then the dryer, Level 100.

edit:

To get all of the ones after the National Dex takes a long time.

If I had a pokewalker, I'd probably try to use it legitimately: I need the exercise!

That said, if I was looking to game the system, I'd probably cut out the pokewalker entirely and go straight for hacks. Is there a Gameshark-like device for the DS? [Edit: Why, yes, it seems to be called the Gameshark for the DS.]

I've used Action Replay in the past, myself, along with Pokesav.

The Pokewalker is nice because it gives me something to check at work, if nothing else.

Errm.... I think you got that a bit wrong.

Why bother washing it? You can just keep drying and not have to worry about your socks being completely soaked or your Pokewalker being drowned.

I'd suggest a Portal gun. Shoot one Portal in the floor and one directly above it, ensure that the Pokewalker is spinning as it falls and let it go.
