It begs the question, how does someone wind up being that full of themselves. Why couldn?t he be a more affable, humble billionaire like say, Bill Gates? I wonder how that strategy would?ve worked by contrast for a presidential run.

Then again, it?s highly doubtful someone like Mr. Gates would ever want that job in the first place.

I only started knowing Donald Trump during the Birth Certificate fiasco.
I only started to know him when he ran for president.

I only started knowing him as that guy who bragged on 9/12 that now his tower was the tallest in New York

I think it's a mistake to think that there are good billionaires. Sure, Bill Gates seems like a much nicer guy than Trump and donates money to humanitarian causes and so on and so on, but it's a mistake to believe that you can make that amount of money and be a good person. As a matter of fact the fact that something like a billionaire is allowed to exist is a failure of our society. There should be an upper limit to the amount of capital a person can possess and it should be way under a billion.

Because that's precisely the difference between a sociopath and a normal human being.

I have 0 trouble believing the piece. Trump's a bore and a narcissist, Melania's a trophy wife. Checks out.
I also think it probably doesn't take much for Woody to get bored and fuck off to smoke some so I'm not sure what this proves.

Every interview with Trump I've seen he doesn't seem to have more to say than how succesful he is and how much money he has. I think where he struck a nerve as a politician is in how non-complacent he is, a total lack of needing approval or external validation makes him so inconsiderate that the anger projected back at him somehow becomes the appeal. Even if Trump's rants lack any substance he still seems to thrive in competition and constant confrontation where most people are the opposite. Though his battlefield seems to be mostly trade and money, not violence and military action when he showed remarkable restraint when he called off the retalitory strike against Iran for shooting down a drone.

Also retired Bill Gates might be a tame povery and eco warrior now at his old age(and also no doubt thanks to the influence of his wife) that isn't really the Bill Gates that ran microsoft.
