Red Cliff (parts 1 and 2) and Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon

I'm a bit of a fan of this historic era, yes it has a lot to do with me loving Dynasty Warriors, Tactics, Romance of the Three kingdoms and the first 2 kessens. However I've just herd about these films from a friend and I'm wondering, all powerful & knowledgeable escapist community, have any of you seen either of them? How were they if you have?

Sadly, I haven't seen any of them. It's a really interesting era though, but I'd suggest reading up on the history before you watch any films.

I have read about the era a lot, reading the book multiple times over (apparently it's a post grad book), plus snippets of history off wikipedia and kongming.net

Whatever I can to settle my lust for knowledge at the time...
