Which Team Fortress 2 class would handle themselves the best during a Left 4 dead zombie apocalypse?

Imagine one of the classes alone at the start of a left 4 dead campaign

NOTE: I didnt add medic to the poll because I didnt have enough room :( BUT that doesnt mean you cant choose him.

Pyro. Good crowd control and great for those slow moving buggers. And for zombies you can always burn them with fire anyway.

Crap, I voted thinking of who would be the best zombie, so I went Scout.

On his their own I would say soldier or heavy, pyro would be good but he has to be close and zombies don't die as soon as they start on fire.

In a L4D style group I would say Heavy, Solder, Medic, and the last can be whatever.

edit: Pyro would be terrible, he has to be close, and it isn't like zombies die as soon as they start on fire, they just become flaming zombies.

Engineer seems pretty easy, just find a supermarket with one entrance and set up the sentry gun. You'll be all good for months and will probably wipe out the entire zombie population eventually.

Heavy would be pretty easy, too, though. Because of the infinite supply of sandviches and the minigun.

Also this may have been done before. Oh well.

Pyro Would have a goo chance to survive, but his team would have to deal with burning zombies until the bodies burnt out. My second choice was a tie:

Demoman would be great at traps

and

Spy: Braaiiiins (I think he could pull it off)

Probably Engineer is the most practical.
Though Pyro is good because he has good crowd control and I guess the suit would make him immune.
But then again the scout could always just run from the zombies.

I can tell you the worst one: Pyro. Fire is the worst thing to use on something that can only be killed by "removing the head or destroying the brain." It would take minutes to kill each zombie, and since they're the fast L4D zombies, that means getting mauled by flaming zombies.

I'd say either the Demoman, because he can set a trap, then lure the zombies in, then explode the shit out of them, or the Pyro, because she can set the zombies on fire, and if they get to close, she can use her shotgun, or the compressed air blast.

A spy can just cloak with cloak and dagger for ever, or disguise as a zombie... Plus can insta-kill from behind any zombies that are feeding just for fun.

EDIT: Wow I'm tired, didn't even think of engie with a dispenser and a sentry... And now that he can move it! Man, he'd be invincible.

Easily the engineer, he could stand in a hallway with a turret and dispenser for the duration of the undead apocalypse.

This is assuming the zombies are the ones from World War Z or George Romero's Dead Series.

Heavy - Good at mowing down the masses, but it's the precise head shot through the cranial dome that makes the zombie stay down. Even if you cut them in half with a burst from Sasha, the zombies will still just crawl towards you and bite your ankle when you're not paying attention. Also, the noise of a chain gun will just attract more zombies.
Scout - Zombies don't really walk, they hobble, so the scout would be able to outrun them. Still, fatigue would eventually catch up so unless you know where you're running to, you're worse off than where you started (in terms of hiding spots).
Engineer - The engineer would be great at turtling with his turrets, but if ammo, food or water were limited, his hiding spot would do for only so long.
Pyro - Fire would eventually kill a zombie, but only after having sufficiently cooked the brain. The muscles in the limbs would fail first, but the Z would get a few last steps in before falling. On a global scale, if everyone started fighting zombies with fire, we'd get stuck in a protracted winter season from the smoke blocking out the sun.
Sniper - If stocked up on food and water, a sniper's nest could be the safest place on the planet. Since zombies don't climb, all you have to do is wait for rescue. Drawback: if no rescue comes, and you've been sniping zombies for the last few days, the sound of your gunfire is going to attract a pretty massive horde. If your supplies run out before rescue, your sniper's nest will be you coffin.
Soldier - Shovels are one of the best close range weapons to use against the Zs. A well placed crack to the skull will put them down. The best melee weapons against zombies are those that have multiple uses (ie crowbars, shovels, sledgehammers) for breaking down doors or digging graves.
Spy - The worst thing you can do is to try to immitate the zombies. I think they were called Quislings in World War Z. Pretty much a death sentence right there. The real zombies will know you're faking and eat you.
Demoman - Explosives will work well against large groups of zombies, but bare in mind that the sound of the explosions will attract more Zs.
Medic - Kinda worthless in treating the bites and scratches from the zombies, but essential in treating the injuries that slow you down. (ie broken legs or sprained ankles) Don't try and find a cure; just survive.

Good hunting, hope to see you guys Post-Zombie Uprising.
