Poll: Alien vs Predator: who will you be

These days the devs simply do not make big-budget games anywhere near as hardcore as the original AvP (PC) was. Even before a single word of information came out about the new game, it was clear that some of the best bits of the original design could not be included.

What conserves a little bit of hope is that it's the same studio and some of the same people are still on board. But in the interviews, all they seem to talk about is animation, graphics, voice acting, LOL FATALITIES. Meh.

I also note there will be no level crafting and no modding. These aren't things I really care about in an AvP game, but they are something that ought to come standard on a multiplayer-equipped PC FPS, and not having them at least quadruples the probability of the game being consolized to shit.

If the game is any good I will be getting it and playing as a marine first, hopefully the game is as scary as the old ones were.

aliens aliens aliens. ive loved em since i was like 13. and playing avp2 multiplayer, there was never anything as satisfying as sneaking down a wall behind some sucker and getting a headbite.

i mean, marines and preds are fun, but they just cant compete with the sheer awesomenessity that is my black-shelled friends.

I'm the alien guy in my group. We usually play with a team of marines, a predator and me as the alien (sometimes on the zombie mode so I build up allies). It's chaotic and somehow it always worked with the older ones, I'm really looking forward to this game.

Wow, looking at these graphics today and thinking about how I thought they were so good back then is kind of weird.

I know. It's always so strange to go back and play those old game like AvP, Half-Live, or Halo: CE. I remember my last computer couldn't even handle Half-Life with everything turned down, but now I can run Crysis almost on max settings.

I'm very wary of this game, given the quality of the movies.

Don't be fooled, the games and the films are nothing like each other.

Definitely. Those movies are a blight on the AvP universe, especially the second one. If you really want to get an idea of how this upcoming game is going to work out, try the AvP games on PC.

OT: Considering my name "Pyode" comes from Pyode Amedha, which means "soft meat" in the Predator language, I think it's safe to say I am a Predator fan.
