This metaphore has gone on without an answer for far too long. My fellow escapists, we find the answer once and for all.

I personally think Oranges. While both Apples and Oranges are good in their juice form, and Apples are much easier to eat, I just like the taste better.

That's why I'd vote for mandarins. They taste the best of all, and they're easy to eat.

Best of both worlds.

That's a hard choice to make, but I gotta go with oranges. Maybe it has something to do with growing up in Florida & having orange trees in the yard.

Apples, because I grew up in Boxford and we make Copella Fruit Juice.

Also, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away" and "You are the apple of my eye"

It wasn't an orange which hit Newton on the head.

I love orange juice and hate apple juice, but I much prefer apples to oranges themselves.

Apples have more varied varieties, and can be sweet or sour depending on that and/or how long you leave them and overall just taste better... objectively of course. Oranges are kind of a one-trick fruit and, of the citrus fruits, probably my least favourite... The best being limes.
Limes are great. They're so unpleasant to eat, and annoying to peel, but have more flavour than anything ever.

One bad point about apples is that you have to eat them entirely straight away or they go brown, but still, apples.

"Basic" oranges not so much, but tangerines and mandarins are vastly superior to apples and most other fruit.

I'll go with oranges since they don't grow here so i'm less sick of them i guess.

I can't decide. I love the taste of various apples, but I really only like them when they're crisp. My preference in flavor is a little more limited with oranges, but the ones I do like are incredibly messy.

I guess I'll go with oranges because orange juice is better than apple juice. Then again, I live in Florida, so I might be a little biased...

Gonna go with apples since I personally like apples better than oranges. Granted I never really liked oranges to begin with so there's that too.

I hate oranges! It's a texture thing, plus the pulp is bitter. The only oranges I like are the little perfect ones you get in fruit cups with absolutely no white stuff on them. But I think those might be tangerines.

So apples. Honey crisp apples!

Ain't no apple in this world got shit on a nice navel orange.

...

Actually, dried apples. Those are nice.

So yeah. Apples if dried. Oranges if fresh.

So there! I reject the arbitrary duality of your question!

As much as I like apples, I gotta go with oranges. They might be messy, but they seem so much sweeter to me than most apples. You can only eat so many apples before you get sick, but I can cut up as many oranges as I want and enjoy all of them. :D

Tangelo, *****!

But, honestly... I like them both equally enough to not have to choose one over the other, anyway...

Apple since it is not as messy when you eat an orange (when the juice squirk out) and the skin can be eaten unlike the orange skin.

Granted the only downside to an apple is that it's more solid (harder) compared to an orange which can be a problem when you got your braces tighten.

You can't make cider out of oranges. I don't really think there's any argument here.
You should be able to, pretty much every single fruit can be fermented into alcohol.

That there's no ready made name for it just means Oranges aren't nearly as popular as many other fruits for fermenting into alcohol.
