I play everything. That being said, my main genres are Jrpgs and 2D "anime" fighting games. That being the case, I go something like:

Sony>Nintendo>PC>Microsoft

Nintendo gets most of my support by a fairly large margin, especially in the last few years. The 3DS has been my favorite system for a good two years, and I see that continuing for a while. I have enjoyed all the games I've gotten on Wii U, and the promise of future first party games only sweetens the deal.

That being said I usually get all three systems if I can. I probably will have a PS4 by the end of the year for example. Microsoft still has to convince me to get the Xbox One, so until that happens it will be a Wii U/3DS and PS4 generation for me.

Title says it all. If you had to cite one platform of video games to declare as the one you support above all others, which, of either PC or the three main console makers, would you choose? Please give a reason for your choices.
I'm not sure what to vote. I guess I can't as I support good games above platforms. The platform is merely the delivery method for the content. I love games that are exclusive to each platform and to pick one would be to reject another.

Outside Microsoft I game on all meaning I have to vote other because the OP didn't put in a "better than you option" (I jest...or do I?). Microsoft have been very foolish in regards to their exclusives and overall diversity so no buy from me.

Already gone through with the legality with you, but to change it up a bit, how is The Last of Us on PC? Drakengard 3? Atelier Meruru?

Being pure Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo company fanyboy gets you no where in the long run, because the next time around your fanboisum can potentially screw you, when one of the others truly puts out a better console next time and you waist your money buying an inferior product.

Being a fan of a console itself (say 360 over PS3/Wii) is more sensible, I can understand that.

As for PC, well a PC is unlimited, it's limits are your limits (computer building skills/your budget). If you can build your own PC and are rich, then a console is never going to win for you. On the other hand if you are using a cheap store bought computer and don't know how to configure it for gaming then your better off with a console.
Never understood where this opinion that being a PC mark is better, smarter, or whatever than being a console mark. A mark is a mark, being a PC mark doesn't make someone a better person for marking out for some indie promotion.
Anyway this isn't directed at you or anyone else here, just making a statement I find peoples superiority based on what they choose to follow exclusively all very odd, and it was your not placing of PC (and the rest I suppose) that caused me to reply.

[footnote]Mark in this context would be someone who sees superiority based on their decision to limit themselves to one platform while indulging in the platform wars. As no one is like that here surely no one should take issue I hope. I say this as people usually confuse my comments with being offensive when they aren't.[/footnote]

PC and xbox 360, since I'm on windows XP many newer games don't support my operating system so the xbox 360 has been extremely useful.

Isn't the PC option technically also Microsoft? Seeing as most people use Windows anyway.

Not really as Microsoft doesn't receive any money for games sold on PC just for the OS. And while not impressive yet, Linux is on the rise.

*laughs* I can't fucking decide!

I think it's because I'm indifferent to every platform outside of those games that peak my interest in some way, shape, or form...

Regardless, is it too late to call myself a Dreamcast person in the metaphorical sense?

I have no loyalty to any device. I have large libraries on PC, consoles by Microsoft and Sony, and handhelds by Nintendo. I go with what interests me.

Companies should have to earn our business, not expect it as a matter of course.

I don't think it's really proper to make PC a choice alongside Microsoft, Nintendo, etc. So I'll just ignore that.

Microsoft person. Yes, I even support the XOne for the most part. Come at me, bro.

Really couldn't pick one. I love consoles but I love my pc too. for me it's more about the games than the hardware.
You could list of the reasons that my xbox is a piece of crap and I would actually agree with a lot of them but that doesn?t change the fact that I have a lot of fun playing games on it and in the end all I really care about is how much fun I'm having :)

I voted other, as in I would use a nearly infinite number of ways to describe who I am other than what device I play games on.

I voted other as I have no allegiance to a single platform, I like to go where I like to game and that's across multiple platforms from handheld to consoles and PC.

PC only now, I was multi-platform when it meant something. This gen is just rehashing all the games from last gen. Last of Us was good despite the predictable, cliched story, and absolutely horrendous game-play, but do I want to buy it again with slightly better graphics? I mean have they even managed 1080P and 60FPS with it? Why does that even have to be a question with a new generation? XBone is just getting rehash of a rehash of the most generic, space marine, consolized FPS ever, and not even the best one (ODST). Exclusives are just timed now, even Microsoft and Sony don't have enough money to keep third party devs from cashing in on every platform. Consoles are on their last legs, struggling to stay relevant, seems they will go out with a whimper, rather than with a spectacular memorable finish. So for me PC only till cloud gaming, then I will see, stay an enthusiast or just plug a keyboard and mouse into the cloud and game with near limitless possibilities. Also mobile devices should have been an option, for me they haven't passed the PC in amount of use, but I can play Vice City and Max Payne on my phone... BioShock as well if they do an android release, times are changing, R.I.P. stagnating consoles.

Well, I think it's fairer to say that I'm not a Microsoft guy. I had a 360 for a long time, but now I'm PS3/4, Vita, 3DS and PC. No point limiting yourself to one system if you don't need to.

PC for me. Mainly for convenience. Would have chosen Nintendo but their latest work is very disappointing and I pretty much play all games on my computer now.
