Poll: Arma II or OPF: Dragon Rising?

I have been playing Arma Assault and i really like it and i was a HUGE fan of Operation Flashpoint, i had the Gold Edition and Resistance and spent hours playing it making my own maps/missions.

Now I was looking at the graphics of Dragon Rising and it looks excellent, however i've heard some very poor things about it such as "its operation flashpoint but dumbed down for consoles" and "the series is now a barely average shooter" I was thinking maybe I should go for Arma II instead?

This is for PC btw. Both Arma II and Dragon Rising are really cheap atm on Amazon.

If that's what the game is like I would totally go for that! Looks really fun (I haven't got the game, but friend of mine does and she can whole days with out putting it down)

Op Flash 2 is just poor. Really poor.

The true vision of the series lies with ArmA now.

If you liked OFP you'll definitely prefer ArmA 2. I tried the demo of DR, it's barely anything like the original. Methinks it's just had the OFP name tagged on as an afterthought to sell more copies.

Though I'd advise you try the demos, they can both be downloaded over steam.

(I'd also like to point out the fact that I'm a moderator on Armedassault.info had nothing to do with me making this decision =p )

Seeing as you liked OpFlash 1, avoid OpFlash 2 like the bubonic plague. It is just a dumb 'strategic shooter' now, the best description I've heard was like Rainbow Six Vegas but with random deaths. It's not really an accurate description but you get the idea, OpFlash 1 it is nothing like.

The best thing about ARMA 2 is the current community projects that include bringing the world of the first ARMA game to the ARMA 2, as well as ports of the first OFP missions to ARMA 2. And the fact that the ports are pretty decent mean more fun. But the campaign from ARMA 2 is rather well, it's worth it, but they could have done more with it.

Well your all saying Arma 2 which seems to be the general consensus online tbh. I've downloaded both demos which i'll try out now but I think Arma 2 is going in my game collection this week
