Having just completed Assassins Creed d playing through Borderlands with a mate, Borderlands. Only if you can get a friend or family member to play splitscreen with you, then it is awesome

(I haven't even tried the 4 player co-op yet either and I've heard it gets even better when you have extra people)

Neither. Wait a week or so and get AvP instead! That's what I'm doing anyway.
Listen to him the man knows his stuff, that game is going to rock

But it depends on what you want an action/stealth(ish) game or a leveling up RPG shooter? I've only played Assassin's Creed 2 so I'll recommend that.

Also quick thing making the title "Ass Creed" will likely attract some people biased against the game

I third the suggestion to get Bioshock 2 instead, but if that's not an option, both are good games for different reasons, I'd go with Assassin's Creed if you are a solo gamer, and Borderlands if you play online a lot.

or hidden option 4. screw it all and get Mass Effect 2.

Did you play Assassin's Creed 1 and enjoy it? Did you want an evolution of the original that goes a little batt-shit crazy toward the end? Do you like spaghetti? - If yes, Assassin's Creed.

Are you tired of shooting terrorists? Do you recognize the phrase "Two men enter. One man leaves?" Have you ever wanted to shoot a chattering midget wearing a hockey mask in the face and yell "booyah!" afterwards? - If yes, Borderlands.
/thread.

No better words express the choice.

Depends on the system. AC2 all the way if you're on PC since the multiplayer on PC Boarderlands is jokable. Console is more debatable though I'll still pick up AC2 myself over a FPS grinder

Welcome to the Escapist. I would Try to recruit you to The Escapist Faction, but Namless beat me to it. Hes abastardGood guy!

OT: I would say get AC II. Even though I have fun with Borderlands, the fun of it wears off once you get to lvl 10. Then it is grind, grind, grind, and gets repetitive very soon.

ACII on the other hand, has really fun gameplay, a very very good, story, and unlike AC1 it has missions where it is mandatory to be stealthy, enhancing the Gameplay.

Depends on what you prefer. They are two drastically different games.

Borderlands = sci-fi-esque really more post-apocalyptic shoot-em-up. Fun, but you really really need to play it multiplayer to get the most out of it.

Assassin's Creed 2 = story-heavy 3rd person Stealth/Action game. If you don't do multiplayer that much, you probably should go this route.

Bioshock2 comes out tomorrow, however (in the States, at least); it could be an alternative to AC2.

AvP comes out next week; it could be an alternative to Borderlands.

I personally liked AC2 better, but then I'm a bit misanthropic, so multiplayer isn't high on my list of priorities.

borderlands could have made a good story but it's just an excuse of storyline...

Assassins creed 2. It's really good, improves on the original in almost every point, and surprisingly enough considering it's predecessor (which I still liked) not much grinding which is what you'll find if you buy borderlands. They're both good I just liked AC2 a lot more.
