I've noticed an overall more mature gaming community in playing Lord of the Rings Online (as compared with other MMOs that I have tried) and was curious to the average age of the person who played it? Thought a poll would be interesting! :)

:p Beh. Under 20, I just like to think I'm mature for my age.

Also, I don't know if I should count myself a LOTRO player. I'm trying to convince my parents to pick up the ol' subscription again. Hopefully they will, but for now, it's trials for me..

Under 20, but I would like to think I am mature for my age. The Lotro fanbase is overall very mature and helpful.

It's very hard to say any fanbase is more "mature" than the other, usually it's just in direct proportion to the size of whatever group you're comparing it to.

Clearly you haven't played on the realm Thunderhorn in World of Warcraft. I have more maturity in my small toe then about half the people in the trade channel combined.

And how many of wows 11 million players are in Thunderhorn? I'm sure the number of brats there dwarfs the entire player base of LotRO, but again, it's all about proportions.

*note, I don't play mmos at all actually, this is just my general theory when the matter comes up. I say the same thing about Xbox live vs PC multi.

I'm also an under 20 LOTRO player, but I would consider myself higher in maturity than most other players my age. I find it that on Brandywhine(most populated server in LOTRO)most of the players I have played with are 25+.

apparently 5 ppl just felt like pressing the 60+years button.
Not necessarily....I've actually run into few people who play who are over 60.....well as far as I can tell by speaking to them in voice chat and vent and the things they talk about would lead me to believe they are over 60. That's kind of why I started the poll due to noticing through experience the average age 'seemed' older or at least more mature in LOTRO which does not always go hand in hand. :)

I'm 20 and I'm a bit surprised at the amount of people who voted below 20 or 20-30. Just about everyone I group with seems to sound like a middle aged man or woman on voice chat.

This may also be a reflection of the people who sign up for websites like this one. Probably a younger audience in general would skew the vote. It was interesting though! :)

I think WOW tends to attract the more immature audiance (from my experiance) and LOTRO seems to get the more mature audiance. Not sure why
