I would prefer badassery. It would be more useful, and I hate people who are beautiful and stupid.

Badass. Because who cares about looks when you can fuck anyone day up who doesn't like how you look. Plus "beauty" is relative to the person viewing the object so what beautifull to one person may not be to another. Badassery is badassery no matter who sees it (sometimes they just think its cheesy).

Also this seems like a very well disguised thread questioning people on where they go with the "nice guy" option or the "total jerk" in games with different chat options (i.e. the Paragon/Renegade choices in Mass Effect). That's right I'm on to you Old Trailmix.

I'm too much of a softy to be ever be a badass, so I vote beauty. Plus I could do with some charisma and charm.

I don't care whether I'm beautiful or badass, so long as I'm intelligent. And, you know...a good person and shit. That's my opinion.

I'd go for beauty.

I don't understand the mentality of the people on this thread who think badassery is "more useful". For WHAT, pray tell? Getting into fights? How is that in any way a positive? And how many people really expect that they will NEED to save the world? I haven't exactly seen a "need of badass" crisis in a long, LONG time...

The OC's description of "beauty" includes charm and charisma; why be a tough guy when diplomacy can avoid / settle the situation before violence breaks out? Furthermore, beauty is also associated with grace and finesse. Take all the brawn you want; I'll just flip you down with judo, dice you with my rapier, or use my pinpoint accuracy to snipe you between the eyes before that minigun of yours can even wind up.

Depends what I feel like doing in life.

Maintaining a relationship, starting a family, and just enjoy life the way it is, then Beautiful.

But what if I see that there's lots wrong in the world. That changing needs to get done? Well I can't do it on my own. I need people to follow me, and people don't follow just anybody. A strong figure, who can take charge and lead the proletariat revolution. In that case I'd take Badass.

If I was hawt, I would probably get more ladies. At least, until they discover my personality is just terrible.

One can be both. Sephiroth is a good example of a good looking character who is intimidating. So is Vicious from Cowboy Bebop. When I play a game, I tend to mix the two. I don't want to immerse my self to being an ugly fucker who acts like a douche. On the other hand, I don't want to be a whiny 13 year old from a JRPG who is a complete pussy. A medium must be reached.

I'd rather be the average person, with a little of each, but if I have to choose... badass.

I'd rather go with personality and finding someone that actually enjoys being around me and my weirdness... Looks fade, plus don't really care much... it's not like I'm just going to sit there and stare at them forever...

Beautiful... I really don't care about being badass, it isn't the type of guy I am. It doesn't fit with my personality. I do care a lot about my looks, so I'd definately take the beauty over badassery, I already consider myself pretty good looking anyway (when I'm looking my best). and I can vaguely pass as a guyish guy anyway as I have a deep british voice and I'm confident enough.

Beautiful. Badass wont get me the power in any way except criminal. The most powerful people in recent times were all pretty weak and ugly, which leads to me concluding that neither is all that helpful in life, but beauty at least gets me laid.

Self defence can be learned, muscle can be built and presence can be engineered, however one cannot teach themselves to be beautiful (or at least not to the same extent). In general charisma gets more done than intimidation ("you'll catch more flies with hunny") as well, so I'd definitely go for beauty.
