pretty self explanatory. Tell me what you think people!!!!

Edit: I personally feel that for influence it was the 70's but for creativity it was the 90's

Good question actually. I'd say 70's, second place being the 90's. The '00s (zeroes? naughts? have figured out a nomenclature yet?) were unimpressive at best, corporate trash at worst.

I was stuck between '90s and '00s since its when all my favourite stuff has been made. Nirvana, Foo Fighters, QOTSA, Chili Peppers, that kinda thing.

I didn't get into rock music until the very late 90s so my opinion is skewed, but most of my favourite rock and metal bands started in the 80s or 90s. I chose 90s.

Definetely the 70's, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and the first three and a half Queen albums.
Rock just doesn't get better.

The 80's seems to have the more iconic songs and acts, even if the hair and fashion was ....APOCALYPTIC!

I've seen a few shows here in Australia refer to the 00s as "the Noughties". It seems to work well enough on the game-shows and such, but I'm not going to use this term myself unless I really need to. :S

Honestly, I'm thinking the 80s. Though, admittedly, it was a hard decision between the 70s and 80s.
Personally, the 90s and 00s didn't even register as good decades for "rock", but again, that's just my opinion. :p

That question is pretty unfair since it's impossible to judge the influence of a decade that just ended, so I'll focus on creativity.

The aughts have been filled with more experimentation, variety and consumer choice within every genre of music, "rock" included, than any other period of history. Regardless of when your favorite music was made or how much you hate modern music, there's no contest when it comes to which decade had the most creativity. It's just a shame so much of that creativity was horrible, though there's been more than enough awesome to make it all worthwhile. My vote goes to the 00s. The 70s come in at a distant second.

I think you misunderstood then. By that logic no decade would be the best for rock seeing as how every decade had other music genres. Yes, disco was popular during the (albeit later) 70's (disco in the 60's??? where did you get that from though?) but it was easily in my opinion the golden age for rock.

I don't know, they were all pretty good. However the majority of my favourite rock bands (Priestess, Black Spiders, The Parlor Mob, Wolfmother) are quite recent so if you put a gun to my head I'd say 00's.
