Well according to Portal 2
Considering they actually got some working gizmos (along with some VERY VERY bad idea's) im going with Aperture

Black Mesa stole a bunch of Aperture Sciences' ideas and sold them to the public so im gonna have to say Aperture.

Never really got into Half Life, so i couldnt say about Black Mesa
But Portal/Portal 2 are 2 of the funniest games ive ever played, Mostly down to Aperture being crazy.
Also the 3rd option's pretty good aswell

I haven't voted in my own pole yet as I appreciate them all equally.
Aperture Science: a ton of great engineering, all really misapplied badly. Seriously, everything --
1) The Heimlich Counter-Maneuver.
2) The Personal Home Security Turret.
3) Propulsion Pudding.
4) The Take-A-Wish Foundation.
On the other hand, has one of the most charismatic CEOs in history. One that could take Steve Jobs in a cage match, even in his later years (wait, that's probably in bad taste - okay a YOUNG Steve Jobs)

Great scientists. Unlike Aperture, while they steal the technology, they actually tend to complete products and ship them. However, they also seem to steal these products from Aperture, causing said CEO to

Great ideas, poor execution. But in a good way.
Black Mesa has cut throat executives and industrial espionage, as well as good-minded, brilliant scientists and engineers (as evidenced by their role in the Resistance)
Aperture has short-sighted, but brilliant engineers and scientists.
Black Mesa accidentally cause an alien invasion. If Aperture had the disposable cash at the time, they would have done so on purpose.
Why? To get there first, that's why.

Aperture science design SHOWER CURTAINS. They only managed to get the Portal system together by random chance. The company is insane. Completely insane.
Whereas Black Mesa do a tonne of non-specific weapons contracting as well as theoretical physics.
What I'm saying is I'm going to go with the Ultor Corporation.

Also, a big alien worm invasion or an insane IA, humans made the AI.

We need a "Psycho" version with the aperture logo on it; Norman GLaDOs.

Between Half Life, Opposing Force, Blue Shift, HL2, Episode 1 and Episode 2 there's been six games to build up a story around Black Mesa, and yet in the space of 2 games Portal's given more background, character and interaction with Aperture Science.
It feels unfair to declare Aperture the winner until we're more informed of Black Mesa, imo.
