As an avid anime fan I admit that even the better ones like samurai champloo have filler-ey episodes.Jonluw said:snip
But I cant help but love seeing a manga in it's full glory. I think many animes make good use of the manga. Even the silly ones like one piece (a guilty pleasure of mine) are funner to see animated despite being at least 50% filler. Because when push finally comes to shove every six episodes or so the fight scenes come out beautifully well done in my opinion and the sound effects are also quite good and I am a person who finds it very easy to visualize manga in motion.
Edit:
This totally forgot darker than black, shame about early parts of the second season, the ending of SE2 was good but the where pretty bad at the start.The_Waspman said:OK, I'm far from an anime expert or anything (I happen to be very critical of what anime I will actually watch) but the first thing I thought when I read the OP was 'Obviously haven't seen Darker Than Black'. Which isn't based off a manga, is extremely complex with deep characters and story lines.
The first series was absolutely brilliant.
