Not yet I'd say. I had a conversation with my friend though once about how far these "hero" games are going to go. We agreed that too far is when we see a "chamber music hero" Ironically though, both of us would still buy a chamber music hero XD

Well, I just checked out the setlist, and I saw not just "Hollaback Girl" , but the repulsive Black Eyed Peas as well.

Even though they mixed Beastie Boys and the Foo, that' still not enough to get me over the fact that Gwen Stefani's in it.

I also just found out that there is, in fact, a Rihanna/ Motorhead mix. Now come on, that's like combining In Flames with . It's just deplorable.

You've clearly never listened to Girl Talk. On one of the bits of his newest album, he mashes up Metallica's "One" with 'Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss" and it's awesome.

I just looked that up, and I gotta say that it's definitely interesting , but certainly not my style.

I personally liked the death metal cover of that Britney Spears song, just because it sounded hilarious.

I think it could catch on but it will probably have the fan base of something like Star Ocean. There will be people buying it, but I don't think it will catch on majorly.

looks like it's gonna be good if you like that sort of music, which I do.

I'll put off buying it like i did with GH because of the price though.

I wish they'd named it something more imaginative as well, DJ Hero just sounds weird.

I've noticed how the awesome rock of Guitar Hero has steadily degraded during the course of the franchise. I don't know the first Guitar Hero's line-up, but I liked GH2's, and loved GH3's. World Tour's music wasn't as good, and now there's a DJ Hero? It's enough to make me very sad.

It surprises me that so many people have set the standard for music video games based on Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Both those games have been done before (Guitar/Percussion Freaks, by Bemani, the same people who made DDR), and DJ Hero...

YES, DJ Hero...

Has been done before as well. It's the incredibly popular DJ simulation game Beatmania, which essentially was the first music simulation game with a peripheral (choke on that, GH/RB nerds).

To be honest, I'm glad they're coming out with DJ Hero. Guitar Hero and Rock Band did a good enough job messing things up by not having much variety in the music selection (Bemani games have tons of genres), and the fact that alot of insanely good "guitar" players weren't even included in the game (Zapp and Roger, Lee Ritneour, George Duke (multi-instrumental), Shinichi Osawa, not to mention alot of other greats that weren't included because FUNK APPARENTLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ROCK AND ROLL, etc.). Even if the songlist sucks, at least they're TRYING to appeal to everyone.

Sorry if that sounds a bit rant-ish, it's just Guitar Hero/Rock Band could have been so much better if they didn't prepetuate the stereotypical guitar being used only for Rock.

Good luck, DJ Hero.

They went too far a long time ago.

Instead of releasing a large number of good songs on one game, they buy the rights to maybe ten good songs per game (out of the 70 or so on each) and a bunch of crap, then they make you buy each game to get the good music off all of them instead of letting you download them.

I also have a problem with the old DLC (guitar hero 2-3) not being compatible with the new games (everything after.)
