there will always be something to hate because perfection is boring, the little things we hate give us hope for the future

I've rarely met any gamers who actually hate anything. Being *critical of* something isn't the same thing as *hating* it--in fact, it usually means that you love something and are extremely interested in it when you take the effort to be critical at all.

We don't search for things to hate, things to hate come to us, like lack of grammar or spelling, or even adequate poll titles.

Absolutely. Gamers search for things to hate because gaming fails to fill to void in their life that could be filled by a perfect game. Since perfection is a perceptive idea, nothing is ever viewed as perfect because all the imperfect things before have left the gamer as a cynical and untrusting little bugger who sees their own ideas as the way forward but once (lit: if) they become reality, they realise they are part of a minority who swiftly deny all involvement with the aforementioned garbage I just sprouted.

In short, yes they do.

PEOPLE search for stuff to hate, most of them.

I don't go out of my way to hate something, but it something is asking for it I don't hesitate.

Yes we do, Its part of gamer culutre. If you don't have alot of things you hate then you 'suck'. Just ask your friends, and see how quickly they tell you that you suck.

I don't think being a gamer has anything to do with searching for things to hate. Some gamers will do this, but it won't be because they're gamers.

The real issue isn't the haters. It's the fanboys who throw a fit everytime somebody hates something they love.

Very fascist, those fanboys.

The biggest problem in all mediums of entertainment, as well as life itself is that people only want to drink their own cup of tea and all others, in their eyes, have the potential to give cancer if the person, and that person in specific drinks it.

Things for me to hate always seem to find me.
I swear you were banned, weren't you?
Why would that matter?
Doesn't matter at all. I just remember seeing you banned, and I thought you might have been perma-banned. Was just curious is all :)

I think people search for things to hate in everything, not just games. But in games, the reason they search is because they can't see the things that they like about a game.

Gamers, and people in general, sometimes want to just trash something. Halo 3 and GH&RB are prime examples of this.

Gamer or not, you don't really *need* to search for things to hate anymore. There's plenty always available, just look on the internet!
