Apparently the controls on PC are stupid.

I enjoyed the game on console though.
I would disagree, the 360 version's control are far more stupid. For instance, having to walk when you're aiming because it's impossible to hold LT, RT, A and move the right analogue stick all at the same time.

The PC version is possibly the worst port of all time though.

The game's not great either (but it is good). In fact, half the things it was praised for are problems not accomplishments; the cover system for example.

Why on earth would you be pressing A while aiming? That does bloody nothing...

To walk and aim you need to have fingers and thumbs over LT,RT,Left Stick and Right Stick.

So you only use your thumbs and your trigger fingers.
Niko walks unless you press A.
OT: Eh, wait 'til it's a bit cheaper I'd say. I got it on 360 for £20, and while I didn't regret my purchase, it wasn't the best game I'd played.

No, I don't. And why? Well it was on sale and costed like 10 USD and I liked it that much thats for sure. Only thing is that the memory handling was badly coded. So I guess it was really badly ported to PC. It took a while after loading to have smooth game. But I played long straights so I don't mind.

And I still think that all FPSs should be on PC 'cause I don't see any problems with mouse aiming, but I do with console controllers/autoaims/joystick aims. Well I guess that you get used to that but I never did in PS2 and I played it a lot. So in my mind PC has ultimate controls (you can fit it with any controller there is) but the smoothness is generally better on consoles as they are designed for that system and that system only (wether it is 360 or PS).

I got it on Steam for less than £5 and it was good! Controls were fine, it ran fine, it was fine! It crashed sometimes but most games do that eventually.

You can run while aiming a gun?

I'll go check now.
If you hold the sprint key while in precision aim you can move faster without losing accuracy. You won't win the hundred metre sprint but you move quite quick.

In the middle of a firefight you'd think he'd like to jog on a little when he's shooting people.

Just played it.

While you can run while aiming and firing, it's less run - More gentle jog. Not much of a difference, but if you really want that minute difference, it's not hard to press A as well.
Oh right, and well... Yes it is.

If my thumbs on A, how's it supposed to be on the right analogue stick? And if it's on the analogue stick, how's it supposed to be on A?

Niko's got the mobility of a fat trucker anyway, he needs to move as fast as he can.

They fixed it in RDR, but for such a huge game you'd think they'd manage to avoid such a basic design flaw.

Don't get it on PC, you need about 3 different programs open to run the damn thing not to mention creating an account on each one and getting updates whenever you want to play the damned thing.

Picked the game up during a STEAM sale some time back for around five dollars, and for that price I certainly feel I got a good deal. It's far from a great port, but the game itself is good enough to overlook most flaws and playing the game with a gamepad is smooth and entertaining.

My only real complaint is that for some reason if I play too long, more than an hour, I tend to get headaches. Doesn't happen with any other game, just this one, and consistently enough that I know for certain it *is* the game giving me headache. Why? How? No clue. But there's just something about the game which obviously pisses my brain off.

Still, played in short bursts I have fun. Kinda stalled at a mission where I need to rob a bank, but I'll beat it eventually. Not sure if I'd pay full price for the game, but for 5 dollars it was one helluva good deal.

$50NZD is a lot :/ I got it for $25 AUD only a couple of months ago. It wasn't totally bad I guess, because I played it for a fair while but it wasn't fun or interesting enough for me to bother finishing it past some frustrating parts. For $50 I wouldn't bother.

Edit: I wouldn't buy it for $25. Come to think of it, fuck that mediocre shit.

Quoted for truth. God the controls for Niko suck so much. I bashed into walls and fell off of roofs far too many times because of how shitty his movement is. Fucker has a turning circle. And tapping a button to sprint is fucking obnoxious.

Give me Saints Row 2, please.

It works with the 360 game pad without any problems.

The system requirements and hassle you have to go through to get it working can be annoying though.
