Simply, do you listen to music while playing? This can range from blasting music on the comp or stereo to playing it from the 360 or PS3.

Personally I don't. Although I listen to music all the time when I'm NOT playing or reading, music distracts me from the game, especially when I'm caught in a good immersive game.

When I play certain multiplayer computer games (like TF2) I usually do. Otherwise I never do.

It would depend on the game, but I usually would yeah. I tend to get bored when I'm not listening to music, no matter what I am doing. I would pause it when it comes to a cut scene though.

sometimes, if i feel the situation calls for it XD

when playing games on my computer i always have music playing quietly in the background, just quiet enough so i can hear sound effects and stuff :p

although once, my cousin was playing Resi 5 on the xbox and he played some Steven Wright stand up

it made it twice as awesome ;)

If the game doesn't have dialog or some good music itself, and if hearing the game itself isn't important. Example, when I'm playing Gmod. Or Spore.

Only when it's really good, or when the game gives you a chance to.

For example, you spend a lot of time running about in Phantasy Star Online: Episode 1 & 2, so whenever I play it, I usually end up humming along to the music.

I usually don't because I want to be immersed in the game and only the game.

But 11 weeks into my holiday I'm growing weary of just gaming and now I'm listening to music from the moment I wake up til the moment I sleep - I reeeaaally like my music at the moment.

I play music through my headphones whilst playing COD4 late at night. I also play music constantly when playing games like GTA-IV or anything where sound isn't necessary.

Depends on the game. If it's a first person shooter where I need to hear things coming, no, but otherwise, yeah, all the time. Nothing focuses me like a bit of power metal.

every single time i play forza 2, especially during the endurance races. 45 mins listening to a cars engine is boring.

Usually I don't, since it kills the immersion for me and interferes with the in-game music, and you gotta admit, some of the music in games is pretty epic.

Depends on the game. If the game's sound isn't very good or if I can play it without relying on audio cues from the game itself, I'll load up Pandora Radio and play my classical-music radio station (because just about anything can be improved by adding the music of Johann Strauss.) If the music is good or the game relies on audio cues in the interface, I'll leave out the classical music.

Depends on the game. For some free roam games like GTA, yes. But then I'll only listen to certain music. If it's Vice City, I'll only listen to anything from 1984 or before. Same with San Andreas and 1992.

If it's Fallout or Oblivion, I'll leave the game soundtrack on to keep the immersion.

Not when I'm on vent, not when doing a team game, not when doing a "serious" 1v1...

But I usually listen to in-game music or my winamp playlist when I'm having a relaxed time...

I can't get through a game without music.

I can't concentrate without...I end up in the other room jabbing my budgie with a lollypop stick.

Rarely. It's cool when I do but I always just forget to put on my headphones and play my music. It does make the game more intense depending on the song. (Videotape by Radiohead+ Any FPS= Awesome. Trust me.)

I don't always listen to music while playing - only sometimes. If I'm playing an RPG or something, I won't listen to music. If I'm playing something like Call of Duty online, then yeah, I'll play some music.

I listen to my music from my laptop, as it's right beside my 360.
