Of course it depends on the beer. But yes, i find beer genuinely delicious. I took me a long time to warm up to it though.

Beer is simply there to get you drunk. It's not like wine, with many distinctive flavours and characteristics dictated by who makes it and the price of the bottle. The exception to this is the freshly brewed stuff you buy at the brewery itself. The beer at the Augustinier Brewery in Austria is absolutely incredible. The taste is sensational. But you'll never find it outside of the brewery, let alone outside of Austria. The beer alone is the reason why i love Austria.

Aside from that, i am very much a whiskey man. A lot of my friends say that they find whiskey too strong or don't like the taste or the smell of it. I always drink my whiskey neat - i can't see the point of dulling the flavour with coke or some similar substance.

Nah. I think it tastes disgusting and smells real bad. No, seriously, I am not trolling.
I am right there with you. I have learned to love a lot of things that were "acquired" tastes. like coffee and goat cheese, but I have never managed beer, for which I get ridiculed for at parties. I just BYOB now so I can say, no thanks, I have something better.
Wouldnt that be BMOB ? ;)
But i would never ridicule someone because he doesnt like beer. There are nights i prefer Wine. And well, the more non-beer drinkers on the party the more for me^^
I myself LOVE a good beer (and good can mean nearly ANY in some situations, i had 2 very cheap but good HANSA PILS cans at during theatre rehersal today. just what i needed.)

Lager, stout, draught, pils, ale, bitter, it's all wonderful.

Quality ones, that is. So American beers not included. Czech-Britain-Germany axis is the best.

I like it, wouldn't say I love it.
Drambuie with ice-cream, however, that's a different story.

... a nice pint of perfectly poured Guiness
I like about the first third of a pint of Guinness, then it sort of goes off. I think I drink it too slowly. I have to get it in halves to avoid wasting so much.

...

It depends entirely on which beer. They're not all the same at all. Coors, Bud, Stella, Carling, Carlsberg, Miller, Fosters and so on are all the same, as far as I can tell, but there are huge differences between actual beers.

Tell thee what: come on bah an' ah'll trit thee ta a few diff'nt ones, an' we can see 'ow tha lahks 'em.

You LIKE Corona?

Jesus. It tastes like gym socks, because it's all skunked because they put it in those retarded clear bottles. To each his own, I suppose...
If it really tasted like gym socks I wouldn't be drinking it, would I? Anyway, I'm sure you didn't say that with the intention to offend me.
No no, I didn't mean to offend you, I'm just surprised to find someone who genuinely likes it!
EDIT: but it does too taste like gym socks

Depends on the beer in question, since they don't all taste the same, you know. But basically, there's something about beer that makes it really great when it's cold. Not sure what that is, but few things are as good as a cold beer. Warm beer, bleh.

I hate the taste of whisky though, and I'm not generally a fan of alcohol. I certainly don't drink to be cool, that's just not worth the money.

beer isn't really that high on my list, I don't mind cider, which has a nice taste but I'd say rum had the most taste out of all of the drinks I've had

I love beer in most of it's forms...

My favourite coming from the Cotswolds brewing company which unfortuantely is not sold in shops and is only avaliable in my local, which at 15 miles away, isn't very local lol.

I can't stand castlemain xxxx or fosters though. My experience of Aussie lagers thus far is that they suck balls...

I'm going to forgive the half of you that voted "No" as most of you guys have probably never had access to quality craft beer like we have in the Pacific Northwest.
Can you recommend me some!? I'm returning there (Eastern WA) in about a month and I wouldn't mind a bit of direction in my quest of beer discovery.
Well I'm not sure which local breweries in eastern Washington are good, but here are a few that you might be able to find in the stores.

If you like dark beers:
Rogue's Chocolate Stout - http://rogue.com/beers/chocolate-stout.php
Widmer Brothers Pitch Black IPA - http://www.widmer.com/beer_w_series.aspx
Lagunita's Imperial Stout - http://www.lagunitas.com/beers/imperialstout.html

If you like hoppy beers:
Deschutes Brewery Red Chair NW Pale Ale - http://www.deschutesbrewery.com/brews/seasonal-ales/red-chair-nwpa/default.aspx
Widmer Brothers Deadlift IPA - http://www.widmer.com/beer_deadlift.aspx
Lagunita's IPA - http://www.lagunitas.com/beers/ipa.html

If you like lighter beers:
Widmer Brother's Hefeweizen - http://www.widmer.com/beer_hefeweizen.aspx
Anchor Brewing's Anchor Steam - http://www.anchorbrewing.com/beers/
Rogue's Juniper Pale Ale - http://rogue.com/beers/juniper-pale-ale.php

Again, these are beers you can probably find in a super market, if you lived in Portland Oregon I could recommend a LOT more, but that should get you started.

"Beer" is a broad subject. I like most beers but there are some that are just awful. It all depends on what its made of.

Only beers I've tasted can only be described as being the closest I will get to drinking lighter fluid. That may change, if I decide to attempt to broaden my horizons later on.
