Poll: Do You Really Hate Sport Games?

I don't hate sports games. I hate bad games, and a lot of sports games are bad. They suffer from movie-license syndrome: the publishers don't need a good game for it to sell, so they don't make one.

As a side note, I wonder how many of the people saying "Just play the sports in real life" are Guitar Hero fans?

They're not bad. Sports games can entertain you for a few days, but soon you will get bored from doing the same thing over and over again.

And let's not forget the fact, that they're basically all the same - when you've played one NBA game, you've played them all. The only difference between them is new players and a couple of new features.

Playing basketball/hockey/whatever in real life is much more fun, than playing it in game.

I would rather actually play the sport than play a video game OR watch other people play it.

This. I don't hate them. I just don't care about them. I don't care if anyone loves them and thinks they are god's gift to gaming. They aren't for me and that is the bottom line.

Surely, if you tell someone that you should just go out and actually play the game rather than playing a videogame of it, then you could apply the same principle to people who go out and watch sports live or on TV. How is it different? Also, there are a massive amount of lazy people out there who want to play the sport without actually putting any effort in. (Me included.)

I'd rather strap on my skates, grab my stick, and look for a nice sheet of ice to play on than play a sports game- the Wii games the exception because you can move around. Games with shooting and sword fights... yeah. Not something I can go out and do without dire consequences.

Yeah and any other console it just doesn't seem like a real experience.

I hate football games. Just what's the point? I like biking and car racing games though, if that counts as sport. But other than that, just no.

Whats the point to any game? =]

I knew someone would use that I just don't see them as entertaining is what I mean.

Love them. I play sports alot, so I love playing the games.
