Heh, yeah, if Yahtz says mostly nice things about a game, I'll take a peek at it. Arkham Asylum and Braid were both praised by him, and were pretty darned good.

You know, he's not your garden variety ranter. He's mostly spot on about his comments, but we're so used to the breathless reviews on IGN et al that we drop our jaw in shock when someone actually points out the flaws in a game. And guess what? EVERY game has flaws, and they're worth looking at. Sometimes the flaws ruin the game, sometimes they just irritate in an otherwise good game. Or as he put it in his ME2 review: "This is the sound of planet scanning......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz" (I mean, seriously Bioware, why?)

Nope not really he's meant to "hate"(can't think of a better word) on games little problems or huge ones.

I bought Borderlands just last week even after his Borderlands review. I love his jokes and his rants but I don't let them effect my purchases and personal likes.

I got Saints Row 2 for free by buying some game on steam early, and I actually downloaded it and started playing it because I saw Yahtzee's review and I bought Painkiller for $5(US) because he had good things to say about it and I agree with a lot of his base criticisms for games.

For the most part he reviews games:
1. I already own (BFBC2, Minecraft, Bioshock, Thief, Psychonauts)
2. I've already made up my mind never to buy( Halo games, Modern Warfare 2, Wolfenstein)
3. I hadn't heard of or just had no interest in.(Haze, Too Human, Infamous)

So about $5 worth my total gaming budget.
