They are more respected by fellow posters, and will get exempt from little or small accidents, but anything major will still get them banned.
I wouldn't be so sure of that. I've had some minor slip-ups and got my just desserts.

I think the Escapist forum culture as a whole is very heavily in favour of quality posting over post count.

Some like Iron Striking From Shadow, Contemporary Ancient, Johnn Johnston (sorry couldn't think of name that's like the Great Ten from DC) and Savage Butcher-Honoured jailer Gaoler, have been here briefer than others but have proved themselves to be bigger contributors than some others with more time under their belts.

I think more of what influences me is what people say, how they say it and if they ignore those unwritten laws buried threads covering acceptable presentation.
Text-walling for example I see as a sign that whoever posted it, is not a veteran of these boards. Sure they may be arguing coherently and have a high post count, but I see many of us here will tell them to present their intelligent arguments in an intelligent fashion, but in a more to the point manner.
Its the same again with forgetting to use a "." or a "," in a paragraph, making it just one sentence meant to be read by a reader with an extra 5 or 6 lungs.

I do give some respect to members who bear Sign of the Epic Fishburne or Sign of the One Staring Into The Middle Distance As A Way To Pass Off Air-Headedness For Enlightenment. By not getting banned for so many posts it's a good indicator, to some degree, that they're not Sir Spamalot the Failure

For me, it's less of being fans, and more seeing certain things. When I've seen Purple Rain post in a discussion thread, he has something to say. He's not speaking simply to say something, it has a purpose, and is usually strong and thoughtful. I find myself disagreeing quite often, but it has some weight to it to see him adding some depth to a discussion. I don't know how else to describe it, the written 'umph' as it were.
It's only because I try to contain somethig new to a post, a hook to a new tangent for people to work with. Well, sometimes anyway.

Ok, maybe I just stumble blindly into these things.

As for yourself NewClassic, you and Decoy have quickly become veterans for the word go. Interesting new conversations, witty dialogue and remarks, intelligent posts.

Really?

I mean really?

Gigantor I can understand but Fire Daemon... The guy doesn't even know what he's talking about half the time. I'm surprised I get this recognition, I really am, I always thought I was a very sub par poster with nothing that interesting to say.
**slap** Stop selling yourself short...
*Slaps Fire Daemon too* Yeah, what he said.

Gigantor's a legend, his exploits need to go unexplained. It's as simple as that.
I'm not sure he posts anymore. It's been a while since I saw a review from that pommy bastard.

*Also slaps doki* You're totally veteran... with a Stormtrooper chick... and a stupid smile on his face that bleeds happiness.
