In light of the Battlefield 4 release, I'd kind of like to know what your favorite Battlefield release has been so far. I think Battlefield 4 is great, personally, just those pesky glitches and game crashes. For me, personally, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat on PS2 and XBox was my definite favorite, it had some of the series' best maps and offered a lot in terms of options and game modes, and gave you the necessary guns and vehicles from the beginning, rather than making you unlock them (BF3 flares, looking at you...). The Bad Company games also offered a lot of fun to me, but BF3 was kind of the biggest let down to me, as it took away most of my favorite destruction from the last games and didn't have a very balanced weapon system or perk system. Anyway, I'd love to hear what you think!

PC: 2142
Console: Bad Company 1

Even though 2142 didn't make huge leaps from BF2, it was a great refinement of the formula. Subtle tweaks just made it that much better. As for BC1 it is incredibly underrated. It was designed with the limitations of consoles in mind and was better for it. It had some technical issues, but the maps(aside from one) were great and it was well balanced to boot.

The BC1 campaign understood what BF was about while still telling a more light-hearted story. I was so excited for BC2 and I was oh so disappointed. Terrible balance, terrible maps, boring campaign, yet inexplicably popular. BC2 was awful /rant

So yeah back on track, 2142 built off the success of BF2 while BC1 was well designed for the limitations for the console.

Battlefield 1942, there is no pesky unlock system, just good honest fun and Wake Island! I think all the mods make the game the best for me too, I had a Stargate one and it absolute rocked!

Battlefield 1942. Battlefield 2 had a lot to enjoy, but that was mostly if people actually worked together properly, which rarely happened unless you were on a good server. BF1942 was able to be enjoyed any time, and it also had some very good gameplay itself.

Then again, nostalgia might be creeping into my choice. Battlefield 1942 was the first online game I played, so I have a lot of reason to place it first outside of just its quality over BF2.

Bad Company 2 was great on consoles but BF2 had some very good mods, Project Reality and Forgotten Hope 2 just shit all over what DICE has put out all these years

Bad Company 2, most likely. BF4 has the potential to be great, provided EA fixes the damn thing.
