Actually a thread to look for the least popular class.

Nothing can beat the Vanguard for me. Though it is quite obvious Soldier is the easiest to play.

Infiltrator in both games.

In ME1, with the right setup you can have Perma-Immunity as well as a badass Sniper Rifle Anti-Tank Cannon which just annihilates everything in its path. Plus a Pistol, which is arguably better than the Assault Rifle.

In ME2, I love the Sniper Slowdown. Not as useful as Adrenaline Rush from Soldiers, but it's a lot more sexy. Plus, Widow. I mean seriously: The Widow.

Just...wow.

In both games I loved being the solider. Some prefer the biotic powers but I like being able to use all the weapons that are available.

The Widow is one of the most amazing weapons I've ever used! I mean, it can one-hit Harbingers, so that must be pretty awesome.

Adepts for me, nothing beats stepping into a room and blasting everyone into the air before they even have a chance to strike back.

Engineers are virtually deities! Bow before our might as we destroy you from the inside out! In our wake ships will rain from the sky leaving a dark stain on the world and the bitter smell of blood. Bow to us! We are your God!

I've only ever played one character (two ME1 playthroughs, partway through second ME2), and she's a Soldier. Seemed like the simplest choice at the time, and I like having a gun for every situation as opposed to being specialised in one thing or another and having to bring along teammembers that "compensate" for my "weaknesses". Weaknesses? What weaknesses? What's that, want another helping of level-10 HE rounds from my level-10 Spectre Shotgun? Oh, you're far away, are you? Well then, I'll just park right here, about a quarter mile away, and calmly headshot you with my level-10 Spectre Sniper Rifle. Oh, you ducked behind cover, did you? No problem, I'll just shoot the ground next to you with my portable Schwere Gustav. Or maybe I'll be cruel and just shoot your cover, sending it spiralling into the air like it's made from cardboard. Oh, you try to sneak up on me from behind? No problem, I'll just point my handheld artillery in your general direction and the splash damage will do the rest.

I've tried some of the other classes, but I just can't get around the limited weapons, and the fact that you have to pause every six seconds or so to launch another special attack. If I wanted to play like that, I'd have bought a Final Fantasy game =P

in mass effect 1 I was a vanguard, after the third play through I started to get bored with it.

then mass effect 2 came out, I LOVE the awesome sentinel silly armour, every things more fun when you glow orange!

I've only really played ME2, and I can't decide which class is my favourite. The two main contenders are Vanguard and Infiltrator, though.

The Vanguard's class power just has an inherently fun feel to it, and it is madly powerful. My friends have paraphrased Yahtzee and are now referring to Biotic Charge as "the new fuck-you button". Also, shotgun rampages are just plain fun.

The Infiltrator, on the other hand, can go invisible and set people on fire. Combine that with sniper bullet-time, and you're basically unstoppable.

It's really hard to choose.

The Soldier in ME1 (cause there was unlimited ammo).

But with limited ammo, in ME2, I mastered the Adept.

Vanguard was ownage in the first Mass Effect. I didn't think it was quite as good in the second but it was tons of fun. Biotic charge is pretty awesome.

Soldier all the way. Tho next playthru ill probably go infiltrator. I just love having access to all those awesome weapons. More of a difference and bonus in first game than the second though.

I hated the adept because of that useless singularity power.

Well, my main Shepard's class is the Engineer. I haven't played all of the classes yet, but I've found that tossing my foes about like screamy ragdolls was hilariously great. As such, the Adept holds my heart as the most fun class.

Pull + Throw makes for the good times.
