Terry Pratchett is my favorite author of all time
and I'm wondering, for all you pratchett fans, whats your favorite Pratchett book?
personally I prefer Night Watch

Samuel Vimes is, in my opinion, the best character in the series and I believe this is his best role

Oooh weee, ummmmm I can't decide I love them all so much, I think Soul Music has been one of favourites along with Thud! with the ending being one of the best ever.

Hope the new ones going to be just as good already pre-ordered my copy, come on October.

Carpe Jugulum. Loved that book. I used to read a lot of Pratchett bu now I tend to avoid him, and go for the oldies. It's Sherlock Holmes at the minute.

From the options you have there, Night Watch hands down.

But you missed Mort off the list, and that's practically a crime...

i thought good omens was the best, but that was niel gaimen as well, so i don't know if if it counts or not.

so i think i'll go with either interesting times or the last continent. those were good.

Only read "The Colour of Magic".

It was funny, but I can't really hand the glory to Pratchett, since it was translated. What I liked was how it was written, also the content, but mostly how it was written.

Since i've only began reading Terry Pratchet books and so far i've only read The Amazing Maurice and his Educated rodents, I have to say that plus it was a good book it made me want to keep reading it, and books don't do that to me often.

Reaper Man.
Death as a farmer is just hilarious.
And the wizards of the Unseen University always crack me up.
It was just such a bizarre book, I loved it.

Hey, each to his own. I just always loved Mort. I agree about Sam Vimes though, easily the best character in the entire Discworld series. And I love how Night Watch really does the gritty, noir setting Vimes really thrives in.

You shouldn't of made a poll, there are like 30 Discworld books, and several others that aren't Discworld, so it'd be a bit difficult to document all of 'em.

Personally I like the Rincewind stories, mainly because I can relate with someone who has a passion for something they're hopeless at constantly getting into situations by running away from other situations.

My favourite book of all time though is definitely The Fifth Elephant, it really shows off how kick-arse Vimes really is, I mean:

He killed Werewolves that had previously taken out a highly trained killer, and battled an ancient evil through sheer willpower

I really hope he manages to write another Moist Von Lipwig story before the Alzheimer's gets the best of him.

That depresses me sooooo much, and I want another Lipwig story

Oh god, so many to choose from. I've read Monstrous Regiment, Thief of time, Soul music, Maskerade, Lords and Ladies, Equal Rites and Night Watch.
My favorite characters are probably the Witches, Lu-Tze and Susan (For some reason I don't really like Death).
I really can't choose, but I really liked Thief of Time, Monstrous Regiment, Lords and Ladies and Soul Music.

You can't make me chose they are all so good. The best plot twist was with Mr Bent in Making money

What with him being a clown
But I can't say which book is best

Christ, how to decide... I have not found a single one I dislike.

Vimes and Death are both ingenious characters and deciding one just one book is extremely difficult.

I would have to go with Night Watch out of the ones you put up there, it's great seeing how things used to be before everything fit together under Vetinaris' reign.
