Captcha: Be Serious Now.
Yes, let's.

So, I think I got all 26 episodes, plus the film. I tried to connect the main plot episodes together to fit them all into the poll. As the title says: what is your favourite Cowboy Bebop session, and why?

My personal favourite is actually Jupiter Jazz Part 2. I really love this episode, because of the atmosphere it conveys. It is really depressing when you get down to it, and even with the sad ending for Gren, there is the sense of comfort and belonging you feel at the end, when Spike and Faye return to the Bebop. Plus, Space Lion.

If I had to pick a second, I would probably go with Knocking on Heaven's Door. As a film, it's okay, but if taken as a three part episode, it works really well. Again, the music is what really sells it. And, it was Jennifer Hale's only anime performance.

EDIT.
The poll doesn't have Wild Horses on it. Sorry.

Jamming with Edward because Ed is the best and it's awesome that she gets her own episode!

I love Pierrot Le Fou because of how weird and screwed-up the villain is.

I thought Mushroom Samba was Ed's own episode.

Well, I technically haven't seen the whole series yet...

...but something tells me the episodes I haven't seen would need to be amazing to beat Ballad of Fallen Angels. Half for being the starting point of Spike's own story, half for the balls-to-the-wall awesome last eight minutes (spiced with "Rain (Female Version)").

I love pretty much all of them, but my favourites are Ballad of Fallen Angels, Jupiter Jazz part 1 and 2, and Real Folk Blues part 1 and 2.
Pretty much any episode with Spike and Vicious in the same scene.
Their endings are just brilliant, in every conceivable way.
I recently re-watched them to make sure that it wasn't just OK and that nostalgia had clouded my judgement.
No worries, they're still awesome.
I mean, just watch these:
I shed tears every time I watch them.

Pierrot le Fou

It's its own contained little story within the series, free from the constraints of the overarching plot (little of it though there may be) to allow the animators to just go nuts and conjure up whatever they wanted. At least, that how I figure the thought process behind this episode was, because it's just so energetic and weird.

You could show this episode to someone who's never seen one episode of Cowboy Bebop, and they wouldn't feel left out of te loop.

And Mad Pierrot is a fabulous villian by presentation and (Japanese) voice acting alone.

The final session, the Real Folk Blue Part II.
Really, just one of the finest endings to anything I've ever seen.
I had mixed feeling towards quite a few of the stand-alone sessions throughout the series, but I really loved all the episodes that told the continuing storyline of Vicious VS Spike, and Spike searching for Julia. Out of those five, Real Folk Blues Part II was my favourite- such a powerful finale.

The whole damn series is just fucking amazing. Thematically, there's something for everyone, yet it still remains quintessential Bebop.

Jupiter Jazz parts 1 & 2 were probably my favourite.

Dat sax...

Agreed.
It's crazy how an episode with such little dialogue can be just as effective as any other episode.

'Speak like a child' - imo, it's a brilliant meta fable for who Faye is, and what the whole show is about: nostalgia for what's lost. And searching for a VCR is just plain funny.
