The short of it: Do you or have you ever flirted with a customer service person? Was it accidental? Did you feel bad? What came of it?
The long of it:
about 2 years ago i had a short stint working for a company that handled the calls related to Xbox. I essentially worked for Microsoft. Obviously, the majority of the calls were about the "Red Ring of Death" issue, or problems shockingly similar. A very minuscule by comparison second most occurring problem was internet connectivity.
I had a call with a woman, a woman who worked for Hasbro, who had been part of the Transformers movie crew. She had a problem with her internet. Wireless wouldn't connect. We talked for nearly two hours troubleshooting, and admittedly just flirting. It was shameful, even more so when we never found a solution. She gave me her gamer tag (The video game equivalent of a telephone number?) and then we hung up, as i was 30 minutes over my Off Hour.
Obviously, that went nowhere, and i was to ashamed of the whole trade off to even add her. Cuz really.... really?
2 years later, I'm on the other end. When I'm having trouble with my new Ipod Touch, i called Apple. I spoke to a woman who walked me through a factory reset, something i could have done on my own, but i was concerned about the money I'd spend on things, and didn't want to lose them without having the option to re purchase, hopefully without paying again. A factory reset takes about twenty minutes, and she said she would stay on the line and wait to make sure. We chatted about our customer service experience to pass the time, and yea i suppose there was flirting going on, but i was not conscious of it until my problem was fixed and she sounded a little strange and told me again her name was.... well actually i forget now.
Anyway... Im not sure how i feel about all that. Its nice, sure, to have someone anonymous you can just talk to, and if your calling a help hotline, you're doing it probably in your free time, with no one else around.
So I'll attach a poll for something I've just thought about. Is there something about a good solid customer service person that is inherently attractive? Do they fill a role that just so happens to be... sexy? Im not so sure I agree, but i do think it's an interesting idea.
What are your thought?
I've accidently added an extra POLL option. Ignore it?
