Fuck yes. I got a 14 day suspension for saying that anyone who would mutilate their pet for cosmetic reasons is a worthless prick and does not deserve a animal, then while on my suspension we got another round of fat people hating.
A thread where people were just saying how disgusting the obese are and calling them hippos and shit.
And the mods didn't do a single goddamn thing. Not one person even got so much as a probation.
So clearly this site is not about treating your fellow man with respect, its just about hating the escapist approved targets.
Not to mention I have seen quite a lot of people get suspensions for "trolling" and whatnot when all they were doing was giving their honest opinion to the question asked by the original poster. Not flaming anyone or anything but just having an opinion that does not go along with the rest of the morons.

Personally I would fire quite a fair number of them and hire people who can do the job properly. The useless ones are just hogging spots that could go to people who understand at least the basics of correct moderating.

I can tolerate nazi mods, I can tolerate useless lazy mods. What I can not tolerate is useless fools who have different sets of rules for different people.
Honestly, the things people get away with saying about fat people on this website absolutely disgusts me. And yet, they always seem to be able to get away with it, whereas we heard earlier in the thread about somebody getting moderated for referring to another person as a "fanboy." Maybe there was more to it than that in his case, but even if he actually insulted them, that's nothing compared to the comments people make about fat people which consistently go unmoderated.

I refuse to believe those statements aren't getting reported at all (I know I have reported some of them), and that the mods aren't seeing them. Considering that a few of the staff members of The Escapist are overweight (not an insult-I am myself and I freely admit it), I would think, if anything, they would be overzealous in their enforcement of hate speech against the overweight.

It just completely boggles my mind that somebody can be moderated for making a sexist joke (as can everyone who laughs along with it), but pages and pages of anti-fat hate speech which would make Hollywood proud can be ignored.

There are always gonna be unfair calls to some people. You can't please everyone afterall. I have heard people complain about the mods plenty of times, some of the latest ones are in this very thread, but I've never had a problem with them. I've never even recieved a warning from them (Though I know for a fact that some of the things I have done would have gained some attention from them had they been around to see it. In short, I'm very lucky I cleaned up my act.), so I really can't complain.

I do find some calls to be questionable by them, but they are certainly more active and quicker to act then some of my previous forum moderators, so they get my respect for that at least.

I haven't noticed them being unfair. Every time I've seen someone get mod wrath, it's been deserved.
Just writing first or such. They ban people on Yahtzee's page for no reason at all. read the latest and see why the first four people were banned. Absolutely no reason. I condone anything that suppresses freedom of speech.
I feel I need to point out that these folks were modwrathed because they posted before watching the video. If the video is 6 minutes long and is posted at 12:00, why is there a post at 12:01 and 12:02? It may be silly to you and it may be going against there free speech, but those people could have waited six minutes, watched the video and THEN comment. That thread is for people who wish to comment on the video. No point in doing that if someone is just gonna ignore the video.

i believe i saw someone get banned for posting something like "hi" while that is offtopic being banned for it? lol
Context is important.

For example if that comment was made at 4:02 yet was posted on a video that was released at 4:00 and runs for 6 min, well that is against the rules and very stupid.
Context matters.
i see that makes sense

the bungie.net moderators are hilariously bad at catching trolls but ban something that's even vaguely offtopic
And that is why I love that site.

It is even funnier than 4chan in the aspect that, instead of people pretending to be idiots (which, alot of the times, people on 4chan are doing just to piss people off), they actually are idiots.
i love that site because the people doing the most shit talking either
A) don't have an attached gamertag or
B) are staff captains

4chan is so much fun though since everyone is being a troll it's sopmehow less annoying

In my opinion the moderators here are very fair. Whenever I see someone has been put on probation, suspended, or banned; I like to see what they were punished for and it is always because they have broken a rule. Many of the suspensions and bans I have seen are because someone has lost their cool and insulted someone else. Which is against the rules.

I have to say yes.

Mostly because i once saw a user banned for expressing his views on the value of moral without religious guidance.

(An Atheist that said that he thought that Atheist had moral highground because they do good without fear of punishmennt or hope of reward.)
Wow, really? Even though it's a logical perspective to paint: personal philosophy rather then fear or hope of reward IS superior, as it provokes thought, and strays away from the blacks/whites and absolutes many religions portray.

Also, I saw a user suspended for having an opinion on females, in a thread entirely based on opinion. It was also portrayed as an opinion, without anything that directly 'attacks' females.

Things like this begin doubt.
