Poll: G4...What happened?

I try to watch X-Play every now and then, but it's more of a news format now with one or two horribly written (not to mention bias) reviews crammed in to preserve the old spirit of the show.
I tuned in last night to see what else was going on with G4 and there was a show on called "The International Sexy Ladies Show". WHAT. THE. F-DUCK?! I say to myself. What happened to the good old days of Arena and the like?! It's quite sad now...

Cheaters and Cops needs to go. I think Ninja Warrior should stay though, but more gaming and tech stuff would definatly be much better. Also X-Play's problem is it used to be like, 5 reviews and maybe something extra. Now it seems lucky for just one to pop up.

God I miss Tech Tv. I remember when X-Play was just Adam standing in an arcade reviewing games. Now its turned into a more game focused AOTS.

In Canada they had to keep a certain amount of tech programming, and are still called G4TechTV. They don't run all the crap that G4 in the States does. The current line-up of shows that I can remember are:

AOTS
X-Play
EP Daily
Reviews On The Run
Lab With Leo (Though they cancelled it for some stupid reason, it still airs in reruns)
Code Monkeys
Freaks and Geeks (Not a bad show. I missed it when it airs many moons ago)
Torrent (Web and viral videos)
C-Net TV
Some random computer shows in the mornings
Unbeatable Banzuki

During commercial breaks they show mini reviews or games, movies and tech devices. The best of the Shows are EP Daily (all about games, comic books, movies, and music0, Reviews On The Run (Best game review show on TV), and X-Play

AOTS is good when Olivia Munn and the other guy aren't hosting. I love Blair Butler. Chris Hardwick is cool. Alison Hayslip is alright. The other guest hosts that they have o are usually ten times better then The main hosts.

I use their site more than their channel. I know a lot of people hate Adam Sessler, but he's easily the best person on the network in my opinion. His Sessler's Soapbox is the best show on their website right now. He's well spoken, very intuitive, and comes at things from a different angles than a lot of other people in the review industry. I also like to watch the MMO report as well.

I like AOTS alright, I think Kevin has great presence as a host, but I'm not a huge fan of Olivia. I understand she's attractive, but it seems like they had to have passed over better choices who were less attractive. I mean she can barely read the cue cards, and she never sounds like what she is saying is coming from her head, you can always tell it's written in front of her. I lost faith in her when she pronounced the website "Funny or Die dot com" as "Funny ordie(sounds like ordy) dot com". I mean, come one.

i agree. what happened to judgment day, arena, pulse, cheat, and all the other good shows? now all we have is xplay which is actually still good, but AOTS is just ridiculous, yeah sure olivia is hot but she isnt really funny, kevin is annoying and shouldve stuck with being the secondary instead of the primary person, like he was on arena. and basically all the old shows got shorted to five minute segments played once a week on x-play, except for judgement day and arena which cease to exist.

However i did hear a rumor that G4 in Canada is still the classic G4, so if its true at least its still alive somewhere.

G4 is complete garbage now its the same two shows for like 22 hours and then attack of the show which is just a bunch of internet memes and really pitful and unfunny jokes its painful to watch really i mean memes are not even fun on the internet let alone the TV and then there is Xplay which is pretty good but far to short and there reviews are kinda bias...also they adore resident evil 4 i mean the game was decent but in no way the best game evar!!11

i dont watch that channel anymore unless like e3 is on or something.

This is exactly what I've been thinking about for a while!

X-Play used to be better when they weren't so formal and professional. You basically never see any more funny jokes in X-Play, involving pictures of people badly cut and pasted, and silly stuff like that.

AOTS, I still like it, but I understand why so many other people used to like the earlier versions more.

Any other show...ya, that's not G4. I barely ever watch TV now.

All I watch on G4 is Xplay and some Ninja show they aired in from Japan. Everything else is blocked out anyway. Unfortunately I don't even remember what it was like in the olden days, so I guess I might never know

I agree, I fail to see how rerunning cops 2.0 for one 12 hours, and cheaters for the other 12 hours is bring them more money than producing good original content.

and also the new show "web soup" is a rip-off of comedy central's "Tosh.0" and I can't stand "cheaters". What does that have to do with video games?

Seriously. The only good thing to come from Cheaters is when Xplay made fun of it when Force Unleashed came out. And now the only good thing remaining related to G4 is Sessler's Soapbox, although I may be willing to consider Ninja Warrior, and I would definitely count Code Monkeys were it still running.

The movies they show are good, Mad Max, Road Warrior, Fight Club, Way of the Dragon, Drunken Master. I do miss some shows from TechTv, Arena, Eyedrop Theater, Xplay (G4's xplay is not xplay). I do like AOTS, it's a good show for news that I actually care about.

The movies they show are good, Mad Max, Road Warrior, Fight Club, Way of the Dragon, Drunken Master. I do miss some shows from TechTv, Arena, Eyedrop Theater, Xplay (G4's xplay is not xplay). I do like AOTS, it's a good show for news that I actually care about.

Unfortunately, I have never seen them show any movies like that.
