Poll: Half Life Episode 3

Gabe said there is a really good reason why we haven't heard anything about Episode 3 yet. As there is no one in the industry that I could trust more, I think this means that it is either A. Going to be epic, much bigger than the previous two episodes and be all around totally awesome...or B...see above but actually is Half-Life 3 in some way...either by an updated source engine or something.

Personally I don't think it'll be 'Half-Life 3', as that will hopefully be made as a new chapter entirely in Gordon's story. We're still looking for a conclusion to Half-Life 2, and that to me does not say a new game...but quite possibly a third episode that is as large as Half-Life 2 itself.

What have the previous complaints been about the episodes? Waiting too long for too short of a game, and no new innovative weapons. My bet is we get both of those, an epic storyline and conclusion that answers a question or two, while raising many more. And maybe some babies. You heard the doc, GET BUSY.

And I think we'll get it this year. They like to surprise us.

I'm guessing they are working on a new version of the Steam engine, and will release Half Life on their newest version

OT: Valve is probably working on it as we speak. They must be working on a new physics engine and whatnot. When it does come out, it will be amazing, I'm sure.

Exactly one month after everyone stops talking about it. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The people dance around and talk about Valve saying there will be something happening everyone on the internet leaps straight for "ZOMFG!!! HL-2 Ep 3 (Or HL-3) IS FINALLY HAPPENING!!!" Then Valve gets one hundred million dollars of free press and then puts out something else. They know that whenever they want exposure all they have to say is that there will be a "Surprise" and you will do the rest. If people stopped doing this it would be out faster than anyone dares dream.

OT: Half Life Episode 3 is going to come out, and it's going to SUCK. BADLY. I'm calling this one, it's probably been said before.

I think they may have started on it, but their main focus is clearly Portal 2.

I usually give up on a series continuing if there's been no news of anything new related to it in 1-3 years *has given up on SE tying up the loose ends Dirge created, but that's probably a good thing*

I'm starting to think that it will be a looooooooooong time before ep. 3. So long infact, that'll just be Half-Life 3 instead. I mean, there was a six year gap between the Original HL and HL2 (expansion not withstanding) so I'm think it'll be announced by next year, and probably out before 2012.

Or it'll get the Duke Nukem treatment
