I played all the Halo games, only tried the Demo for Halo Wars (seems like a a reskinned C&C 3 Red Alert to me, and that was shit to begin with) and in all honesty i thought Halo 2 Was by far and away the best, Bringing the Arbiter into things was a great change, his missions offered something different than Chiefs go here Blow this up, kill him blah blah blah. Anyway yeh Halo 2 is the best, still Half-Life prawns it!

Halo: CE is the best.
Halo 3 comes in second with its kickass multiplayer, but the story was on the weak side.
Halo 2 is the weakest in the series, but it still deserves props. The first missions on earth kicked absolute ass.

None of the games are bad though.

Halo: CE is unchallengable at the top of the ladder.
What about Regret on Halo 2? That was a pretty good level, so Halo 2 comes in second for me, as it was mediocre in some ways, but still okay. Admittedly, practically nothing is more fun than charging ino the midst of a bunch of screaming grunts and proceeding to kick the shit out of them.
Personally I hated the campaign in Halo 3 so much it comes in last out of the three (in my opinion, of course). Halo 2 and Halo 3 had a multiplayer largely the same, but Halo 3 just added a couple more variants; like infection. While okay, I just wasn't terribly impressed by it.

The first 2 were really good and so is the third, but the online comunity for the third makes me resent it.
