Camping, Griefing, Ganking - whilst they're all annoying to be a victim of, to actually take part in them can be great fun.
Also: Sniping, whilst entirely legit can be just as annoying to be a victim of, especially if he's good.

Re MMOs, especially WoW:

When someone kills me on any game i wait to respawn and get on with my life.
BUT
I understand the various quibbles here about how people mastering explosives can lead them to dominating most people or how speedy knife runners on cod can ruin everyone day, but in any online game theirs going to be a certain combination or unforeseen incident that will lead to a break in a game's balance, this is called: "choice"

If you give people the option to pick and choose their weapons you will always have someone who will chose a weapons they know kills people quickly and can do so under most conditions.

A Great game that's perfectly balanced is Team Fortress 2, although you do get the people who camp and so on but those people are usually taken out by someone with a specific play style or knowledge of the map.

Any tactic that counts on the player having a respawn is cheap in my eyes. It seems overtly Stalinist. I would give large amount of praise to the first game that primarily ranks players according to survivability, not kill counts.

I think everything balances out in the end when it comes to fps's. Except akimbo 1887 shotguns. Those are fuckin outrageous. Why the hell do you need two shotguns!? What was IW smoking when they made those things?
Some wacky drugs rolled up in fat dollar bills.

OT:

The only thing I find a bit cheap are the 1887s. Hate them.

Cheapest weapon? I can't remember its name but the one-shot, you're-dead sniper rifle from Counterstrike. Every other weapon was a-ok but once you heard the signature BANG of the n00b-cannon, everyone, myself included, went apeshit!
AWP!

I honestly think that every tactic is fair. Unless you are caught hacking the game, then the weapon/tactic was included for a reason.

Nothing really is cheap, they all take a fair bit of skill and practice to use properly.

I get annoyed a being torn a new one on MW2 by everyone, as I use a LMG and get owned in 9 out of 10 encounters.

Spawn camping is definitely the cheapest tactic.

Also, has anyone else noticed that there's hardly any rocket launchers around when an enemy tank is slaughtering your team?

"Destroy that tank! Destroy it, dammit!"
"Oh, I can't waste my rockets on that thing! Tanks count only as one kill, you know."

On a side note, can I ask what "noob tubing" is?
Rocket launchers, grenade launchers, one-shot-one-kill sniper rifles etc.

People use the term pretty freely.

Not every reason is a good reason. Devs can be brainless idiots sometimes.

Example:

"Let's make a machine which combines the good sides of a fighter jet and a helicopter!"
"Great idea! let's also make all anti-air weapons bloody weak so that hardly anything can destroy our beautiful creation!"
"Wunderbar!"

I'm pretty sure that's what happened when they made the VTOL during Crysis MP's development.

Nothing is cheap as everything is part of the game and is supposed to be used in said way. But answering your Q I will say, Combat Arms: Specialists. They have instant death grenade launchers and mini-guns that only they can use.

Planetary Fortress rush in Starcraft 2. It only works on smaller maps against the protoss, but I've yet to find a player that can counter it!

I. Hate. Camping. Sniping doesn't count, as that is the correct way to use the weapon.

Knives, its like all FPS's think that military ingenuity peaked with the blade.

One hit kill, instant unsheathing, pierces all body armour.

Makes u wonder why u have a gun really.
Granted they make it a little too easy in the games, one must conceed that time and time again, police records and training show that at an initiation distance of 10ft or less the guy with a knife tends to beat the guy with the gun. In a lot of these games people tend to use the knife when they are sneaking up or when rounding a bend into another person. I like that they make it one hit one kill in that an FPS cant really encompass the grapple that ensues in close quarters. It is fair enough considering if the guy with the knife is on you and you havent shot him yet to say that you have pretty much already lost.

I know I am now set up for flames from everyone who loves thier gun. BRING IT ON =)

Heavy weapons (excluding LMGs, I love those). I wish I could have also voted for camping tactics. Nothing is more annoying than a guy sitting in a corner with a close quarters weapon, especially in Modern Warfare 2 since the maps have so many choke points.

Camping usually gets me peeved. Mainly because they've found a really good spot where it is just about impossible to flashbang and kill them.

And yet I keep coming back. :(

Why do people have a problem with thermal scopes? They're only good on sniper rifles, and they are easily countered with the cold-blooded perk. As for knives and double shotguns... well like someone said before, there isn't actually a knifing animation, so players gain invincibility when they knife someone.

Also, to the knifers, noobtoobers, and shotgunners, there was a recent article about how Infinity Ward released the MW2 multiplayer without first releasing a beta version. This meant that they couldn't fix all of the glitches that some of the players utilize, such as running faster while carrying a care package, or invincibility while knifing.

I choose the annoying people that crouch or lay down or jump when shot at. It kind of ruins it for me.
However, the unrealistics go in both directions. For example, in reality, people don't run around like goddamn frogs on steroids, they have great difficulty carrying, much less aiming, LMGs, they can generally be trusted to die when hit once or twice with a bullets of any discription, they cannot reload any weapon by lowering it below their line of sight for a second, and finally, wounds do not heal completely with the application of minute amounts of TIME.
