So only a few years late to the party I'm thinking I want to start playing Hearts of Iron. I thought it would make sense to start with the latest one but a friend told me it was crap compared to II. Further research has produces mixed results. So I ask you, Escapist, which Hearts of Iron game do you prefer? Keep in mind it's for a complete beginner and judging by the II demo I have next to no idea how to play these games.
