Hey Everyone. I have been playing an alliance paladin for 2 years, i'm in a nice guild but i dont raid and im getting really bored. i have the epic mounts, the pvp gear, the profs, the titles but im really bored. I rolled a hunter the other day on the horde side and im having a great time so far (im level 48) but i feel guilty about ditching the alliance. I just want an honest answer, i love both sides and i cant choose so can you please just tell me which side i should be playing?

Well I played alliance for ages, all the way through 70 etc then I moved to horde a few months towards the end of 70 and tbh, I haven't logged back on my alliance since.

Play whatever you feel like. Anyone who says that there's an inherent difference between the Horde and the Alliance is mistaken or lying. Maybe there's a variation from server to server, i.e. "All Horde on Skullcrusher are assholes, but all Horde on Shattered Hand are welcoming and friendly" but really, it all averages out. Play what you enjoy playing, whether that means a muscular green humanoid, a cow-man, an effeminate elf, a tiny person with pink hair, a space-goat-lady, or whatever.

Those dirty Horde can go die in a fire, though.

I don't play it, but the Game Informer guys are all Horde, so I'm going Alliance just to spite them. They used to be pretty good reviewers before the WoW addiction took over.

That, and Alliance sounds like the good guys.

I personally prefer Horde as there is more variation than human, smaller human, even smaller human, purple human with big ears! But there isn't any difference.

With all the servers out there, there is bound to be differences between them all, but all the servers I really played on(only 3 so is a small sampling), Horde had a larger percentage of mature players, but I more enjoyed horde for the racial abilities. In the end though I would suggest picking one or two servers at random (2 if you want pvp so to sample both factions). Do 10-20 levels with each race and see what really catches your preference.

All of the servers I have played on are loaded with immature Twats, who act like they are better than you because they Bought a character off of Craigslist, and to show this they act like they are 1337 by ganking. So yeah both Factions are full of this Scum.

The Horde and if a mod named CantFaketheFunk tells you otherwise tell him to fuck off right back to the Twisting Nether!(no offence to CFtF ofcourse :D)

The Horde have a better story, with three of the races being honourable yet savage and only seek to want a place in the world of Azeroth.

The other part simply wants revenge and the Sunwell (even though they have it now and can stop bitching) revenge for what? Aside from the obvious being turned Undead the Forsaken just seem generally pissed at everything which is also very cool.

The Alliance however is a group of self-righteous morons who end up doing more harm then good, the bearable ones are the dwarves because they're imperialistic and drink alot but then I remember they are related to gnomes and by kinship all need to die as well.

This is one point no one can challenge me on:

What Alliance hero can challenge a Horde hero? You can't say Malfurion or Tyrande about saving the world twice because they did that as a part of a neutral Night Elven race.

Like:

Thrall > Varian
Saurfang > Bolvar
Grom > Uther
Garrosh All of them (Dude jumped into the twisting nether and saved the world and a cut into the leg of the ultimate evil)
L80ETC > Stormwind Polka Band

(Jaina also doesn't count as she is part of the separate Kul Tiras faction which only ever aided the Alliance)

Edit: Oh I got all unnesseccarily lore-y, my points still stand. But Funk's right the player base is dependent on the server, I've often found that the "losing" faction is often the nicer and more welcoming one (Or atleast on Nagrand because honestly the Allies there are wooting dickholes)

ALLIANCE FTW N00BZ

Anyway I have found that they are both really the same but of course it always depends on the server. I find that Horde are better but that is just my sever and the fact no-one cares if the king of SW is being attacked by a horde of Horde. (pun not intended)

Honestly, though, I've found that a lot of Horde players seem to have this arrogant "OH MAN ALLIANCE IS FULL OF 12-YEAR-OLDS" mentality. It's a superiority complex.

It really depends on what Faction you are playing as,Horde are evil if you play on Alliance, and Alliance are evil if you play Horde.

Well, lets put it this way: Horde is a word that screams Chaotic Group, and Alliance is a word that screams teamwork.

Most of the 12 year old's play as Blood Elves, and most of the servers I did play Horde on were full of immature adults.

Aw, HELL naw.

Uther = Grom, broski. And why are you comparing Thrall to Varian? How about Thrall to Arthas (though Thrall to Jaina, Furion or Tyrande might be more apt), Varian to Garrosh (in which case Varian schools that emo Maghar), so on and so forth.

Thrall = Furion
Jaina > Sylvanas
Varian > Garrosh
Magni > Cairne
Velen > That Blood Elf Guy
Uther = Grom
Bolvar < Saurfang (I'll concede that, but Bolvar is a badass in his own right. See: Onyxia Chain, Wrathgate)

Plus Alliance has Muradin Bronzebeard, Alleria and Turalyon, Kurdan Wildhammer, and Tirion Fordring.

While I'm at it, here are my feeling on the Alliance during my few years on WoW: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cW_Lv0r-l4c

And I'm sorry, I couldn't listen to more than a little bit of that. Plus, it's Cannibal Corpse, dude. Not gonna say anything about their music, but they're hardly an authority.
