You'd never want anything so you'd never be disappointed by anything and you'd never be sad over desiring something you can't have. I'm sure there are down sides too, I just can't think of them right now.

So would you do it?

Nope, I like strifing for a higher goal.

And life would be so booooooooring if there wasn't that one thing that you just couldn't get to!

Probably not.

If you have no disappointments, you can't experience true joy, or at least, I don't think so.

It wouldn't be boring because you wouldn't want happiness or excitement. You'd be totally at peace.

I like the idea of having something to work towards, if I fail I'll try harder next time and if I achieve the goal I'll be that much more happy..
though if I failed at my lifelong dream, I would abandon all desire.

If you don't want something why would you live? You just wouldn't want to live and it'd be pretty boring.

obvious answer: HELL NOOOOO!

what are we if we lose all our desires? that's right rocks.
we desire food, affection, to many things to name. without those we would be nothing, we would want nothing and we wouldn't even care.

No, want is the basis of organized society, if you want something you go get a job and get it if its expensive you go to college and get a really good job or you work your shit job really hard for a while, if nobody wanted anything how would we function as human beings?

Well then wouldn't you become curious?
Seeing people slave over things that you find unappealing?
Never understanding why?

Damn this is a tough one, I really couldn't say what would go through someones mind if this happened to them.

Isn't curiosity a desire to know something? You wouldn't want to know what drives other people, I think.

I'll have that on the day I die. If I'm alive, I need wants and desires. They are the impetus to do EVERYTHING.

No one in their right mind would say yes.

Littrally, desire is the first emotion to come. good, bad, or otherwise, all emotions spring from you wanting something.

Without it, your brain would go "oh why bother" and shut off. there is nothing you possibly do.

"What is a nerd without the desire to beat the final boss?"
He's a nerd that sucks at games, that's what.

I ain't giving up those years of practise. I don't think my fingers would let me, after all the work I made them do over the years.
