After I left a small comment on the BBC News Website, relating to Clearing at my University, they now think I am interesting and have asked me to be interviewed either by their newsroom or on radio. Ok, I don't mind doing that...

But, me being me said I'd have to check with my Uni to see if they would be unhappy. So I did, and they have a Corporate Communications Team (Obviously) and if the BBC want an interview with any staff member at the Uni (which I am) they have to go through them.

The BBC say I could give them an interview without revealing my identity...

So, bearing in mind I've just been offered a place on BA (Hons) Business Studies, LLB (Hons) Law or BSc Information Technology with Business Studies, and my uni education is highly important to me and could be put in jeopardy by talking to the press.... would you give the interview?

I've decided that I will not give an interview under any circumstances, because Uni is too important to me, but would you?

I'd say yes, I'd love to give an interview (on something I know something about, of course) for someone like the BBC. Hell, I was watching John Bishop's Britain earlier on iPlayer and kept wishing I'd been approached to tell some of my life stories for the show (though admittedly I don't have the greatest stories - brilliant show, though :D).

But yeah, I'd jump at the chance...

Is BBC one of the more reliable news networks? If so, I'd do the interview, but there's no way in hell I'd do an interview for CNN or Fox, or any garbage stations like that.

In the UK, outside Reuters and student newspapers, it's pretty much the only reliable news network. It's the British Broadcasting Corporation, which is funded by a TV License every UK TV user has to pay for, and is completely separate to anything like the government and whatnot (though still following the law, obviously). It also happens to be one of the very few media groups that is relatively unbiased when reporting news. Sky News are also fairly good, but nowhere near the levels of journalistic integrity that the BBC have (in my opinion, anyway...).

Then yeah, I'd do the interview, whether I was identified or not. It'd be kinda cool to know I was an anonymous source for something.

BBC is pretty reliable and has a good rep at least here in northern Europe, but if you value uni career, I'd do it, but anonymous. Preferably with voice modulation in addition face darkening. That way, total deniability if someone is unhappy.

Of course, I'm just a student, so I could do it even entirely public without any real problems.

Sounds like a reasonable decision.

Personaly I'd prob do the same and either give the interview with the Uni's consent or not at all.

You're a student not a member of staff, so I would have done the interview.
