simple question about Mass Effect, if you could pick a species and put it on the Citadel Council, along with the Turians, Salurians, Asari and Humans, which would it be? for me, I'd like to see the Quarians up there, sure they don't actually have a planet to call 'home' and half the galaxy are racist towards them but so what? joint second would be Elcor or Hanar because Hanar are easily THE MOST POLITE MOTHER F####RS out there and Elcor because, well, the voice is just fun to listen to.
P.S. It doesn't matter what other species think of your choice, If you choose, say,the Krogan, then lets pretend nobody sees anything bad about that choice until about a week later(that's why I put Reapers as an option)

The Volus. Can't believe you missed them...

While they can't offer any martial might, the fact that they practically run the financial sector in citadel space but can't decide policy seems completely wrong to me. They have the most to offer the rest of the galaxy, easily.

They're not even allowed to have any official presence on the citadel. Not even an ambassador. No way in holy hell will the quarians sit on the council within hundreds of years of the ME trilogy.

Those little pressure-suit finance guys probably deserve it the most.

Has to be the Hanar (for one, they were slated to be the next council race though there was debate as to what "major contribution they had made to galactic society), also, Blasto rocks.
The Quarians CANNOT be a council race as they technically aren't a citadel space species (they were stripped of there embassy and kicked out for the whole Geth thing) but thats me nitpicking and I apologize :p

I want to see the reapers join the council.

That would certainly cause a few shenanigans.

well from what I've read the Volus has their government tied up with the Turians, they traded part of their government and financial knowledge to the Turians so the Turians would provide them with almost unstoppable defenses, that, and I was too busy thinking of OTHER races that I sort of forgot about them

I was going to say Humans but I will assume this poll takes place after the Reaper invasion with everyone not dying.

Anyway: After Humans join up, I think Quarians would get it. I say this because I would think The Geth (after a civil war of sorts) would end up joining the other organic races to defend against the Reapers. Since The Geth were made by the Quarians, I think the council would take whoever does the most to aid the main races in the war against The Reapers. Of course, by this strain of logic, The Rachni could be included in the Council.

Also: If The Volus don't get on, they will likely try to rise up and attack other Citadel races. It would result in a very entertaining war, I think. If The Rachni join, then The Krogan could rebel due to bad blood and start another war with the citadel races. It would be cool if The Geth were given a seat on the council but, many people would distrust them: especially the Quarian unless of course something big happened between them.

I'll say it once and I'll say it again, it doesn't matter what other species think of them, I'm thinking it as a 'Non-council Species' hey can we join the Council?
Asari/Turians/Salurians/Humans sure, why not.
*1 week later* S##T what have we DONE?

This. They've been around the longest(after the Asari, Salarians, and Turians they were the next species to find the Citadel), they control the finances of the majority of Citadel Space, and they'd look hilarious standing next to the four taller races on the council.

After them I'd say either the Hanar or Elcor. The Hanar's politeness may get in the though, and we haven't given enough information on the Elcor for me to make a decision about how they'd fit on the Council.

The Quarians might have the biggest fleet in Citadel space, but they don't have the stability or political clout to fit on the council. They don't even have a representative on the Citadel.

Why does everybody like the Hanar so much? Yes they're extremely polite but something just seems... off. They train assasins, and smuggle goods just as any other species.

The Geth, I love the Hanar, and the Elcor i like all the rest but if Shepard needs to get shit done i think the Geth would logically think every answer through, and then say no...but because the council hates geth they would all vote yes and by majority Shepard would have a lot more crazy difficult things to do.
