It has

No LFG system (after 7 months)

Complete abandonment of the principles of the first game

No support for PvP thus far

Time Gated content

Broken events

The most hideous RNG I've seen.


All of which GW1 didn't have. How can this be possible? How can a company completely ruin all the things that made it's first game GOOD?

I joined the GW2 because A-net said they had e-sports pretentions for the game. Guild Wars 1 had an engine and combat system very well suited to e-sports, and it only failed to become a regularly streamed spectator sport because Anet didn't support the movement. It blindsided them, so I don't blame them for that. They managed one paid tournament and that was that.

So GW2 rolls around and what do I find? A minimap that doesn't track characters, no collision, NO COLLISION?!, did I mention no collision? awful Y axis detection, unreadable combat populated by artistic blurs where the clear movements of GW1 used to be...

What a fucking joke. I despised GW2's mutant engine, and I see the whole combat system for what it is; a slightly refined version of the fundamentally flawed system used in Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning. No wonder it feels like garbage to play.

No, GW2 is NOT better than GW1.
