By definition, perfect can be taken to mean flawless. Tetris is flawless, and I love it personally, so perhaps it is the perfect game.

Then again, it is hard to say what is imperfect about some of the "simpler" games. I would argue that Geometry Wars Evolved is flawless, but is it perfect. In this modern era, i have played it an awful lot, and never ever been frustrated at my own failings, so by that same definition, Geo wars is perfect.

Nope. I never like the storyline. I just couldn't connect with the characters. I'm serious though, storyline matters a lot to me.

No. It is addictive but so is smoking. The thing about fun is that it eventually gets stale. While instead of fun Tetris gives you...a want to get a high score, or just to continue. Once you combine that semi-addictiveness with fun and keep it enjoyable then you will have the perfect game.

I will say that I have had 15 hour sprees of Tetris, but the perfect game? No, but it is damned amazing! I love the game but I believe we saw other games before and since that were and are better.

I never really liked tetris, I played plenty of games before I ever actually sat down and played it for fun (instead of just to pass the time as something better loads) and I ended up getting bored after only a few rounds thinking "if this a great game, then all those other games must be amazing, cause there all better than this one!" (OK, not all games are better than tetris, but i honestly don't get why people like it so much)

No, Tetris isn't perfect.

It has poor characterisation & a lack-lustre story.

People trying to define a perfect game are wasting time. It's faster to define a non-perfect game, or a game with flaws. If Tetris has any flaws, it can't be considered perfect. And in the game of Tetris, there is no way to win, you can only postpone losing. Any game you can't win is inherently flawed.
