Guys, is it possible? Another Just Cause game? Does it sound like it's possible? It would be so awesome!
Hopefully a nice modable PC version as well or maybe that would be far TOO awesome.

What can we do btw, to make mods available to console users? Other then if developers lifts them of the communities and release them to the general public I mean? Like some of the stuffs in CoD and that whole game Counter-Strike and what-not.
They tried with Unreal 3 for PS3. Console players needs to experience it.
DLC will still be released and sold in plenty. Don't you worry about that. The games can only become even better with mods. Skyrim.

My -Just Cause- is BRINGING MODDING TO CONSOLES!

EDIT:
I say yes to mods on console. What do you say? Please explain yourself. Talk about your most beloved mods and nicely modable games like NWN and whatnot.

It's not really viable, mods generally isn't the best optimized. And console game normally tries to get the most out of the system, so the developer would have to rewrite the mod almost completely in order to make them it run without issues, in with case they could just as easily make DLC.

Mods? On a closed platform? Neeeeever going to happen. Would be nice but wont happen.

Developers (most of them) don't even like mods on PC, when they know they can make money with DLC, e.g. Call of Duty's rip off map packs.

Short of the Forge map creator in Halo 3 you'll never get Mod creation onto consoles due to the following.

Optimization: Console ports of games tend to use every bit of processing power of the the hardware leaving verly little for some mods like extra animations, wholesale conversions etc.

Lack of a M&KB: The real heavy duty mods and content creation (ie, new weapons and meshes) use software similar to the devs use, and it isn't what you would call user friendly.

The Skyrim Creation Kit

DLC: How else are publishers going to sell you DLC if you can download free mods?

Unreal 3 worked pretty well. Either way some modability would be nice and that next Playstation could most likely handle mods well, with that amount of RAM especially. Even the map creator for Halo is a modding tool, skate park builder in Tony Hawks and what-have-you. It's still more content even if it is UGC. More is better for the person paying.

The "creation kit" is actually very user friendly. However even if it wasn't I can't see why that would be an argument against it. If you are interested you will learn anyway and so on.

Ask Bethsda. Modding has more then likely help them shift plenty of DLC. I for one wouldn't have bought all that DLC if it weren't for mods. I would have gotten tired of the game much faster and I'd never bothered. Also my graphics, my interface, my HUD is much improved I also experience a lot fever bugs and my game can use more then 2gb of RAM thanks to mods. My game is also much bigger with more for me to explore, use, loot and whatnot. It's also harder, more rewarding... well it's just much much better.

-------------------------------

Mods contribute to gaming over all, to people who doesn't mod or use mods as well. Counter-Strike, which was a mod for Half-Life 1 at first, revolutionized online gaming. Maps, Perks and more made their way into the Call of Duty franchise as DLC or on first release. More more more.

Why take something like modding out of the gaming world? It just makes things better for us gamers. This "next generation" of consoles can handle mods (or UGC if you will) without problems I'm sure.

Even if I switched back to PC gaming today I still wouldn't get involved with mods. Back when I did mainly play PC, I dabbled in mods and the vast majority of them were absolutely terrible. I'll leave it to the professionals.

I don't really see any way to get mods on consoles without ruining the simplicity of them. Since PCs already offer modding I'd like to have consoles remain a simple but reliably functional platform. If that's doable with modding than yay, go for it.

It also is possible to currently mod consoles, but you need to homebrew it first.

I'm going to guess you are trolling since modding isn't about cheating. It's improving, adding, removing, creating. But cheating is possible though if you want. CHOICE! Modding is great!

At any rate they already have cheat-codes on console. It's a console classic.
Trolling? What's the point of a cheat code if it doesn't: improve, add to, remove from, or create things to augment gameplay experience?

Never gamed on PC, so I don't get or care for mods. I agree with TehCookie in that I'd like to have consoles remain a simple but reliably functional platform and with the permabanned guy that mods aren't needed on console games. As far as I'm concerned, I enjoy the games I purchase immensely, I've yet to experience bugs, and the few times I wanted a little extra content, I downloaded official stuff.

Well naturally I assumed you assumed modding was all about cheating (like god items and such things) or you were trying to provoke me. It happens a lot, maybe not on escapist, but it might happen here as well. It sort read like that, you might not have meant it like that, but it did.
Anyway my point was it is not about cheating. Well you can but that is not all there is to it.
I've heard that, frankly pointless, argument against moding many times. By people who later calls themselves "trolls" (as well as because of ignorance -as in being unfamiliar with mods and making assumptions).

EDIT:
I really don't know why I removed it. But it's reverted back now. All fixed.

Also cheat codes usually doesn't fix bugs or fix the game in any other ways or add new quests and stuff. They run more in the lines of god mode and what not.

Well I can't really see why that would be an argument against it. There are so very many great ones and things to come out of it.

EDIT:
Maybe you weren't really trying to argue against modding, just stating your opinion.
So yeaaaah never mind that XD
