Poll: Law & Order vs CSI

I feel rather lonesome in stating that I, by far, prefer Law & Order, in any of its incarnations, above CSI.

Mostly because it feels like, what do you call it... a crime show? That's actually about solving crimes, not showing how a bullet enters someones crotch in way too close detail. I feel the difference between the two is that CSI has forgotten that it's supposed to be about solving crimes, not about how many stupid ways they can show closeups of stabwounds being inflicted.

I'm not saying I particularly dislike CSI, it's a perfectly competent series (any and all of them), but it's so caught up in the technology behind the crime solving that it forgets that it is ultimately a crime show.

Granted, there are a lesser ton of crime shows out there, if you don't really prefer either of Law & Order or CSI, just pick "Other/Neither" and say what you prefer instead.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who perfers Law & Order?

I prefer Law And Order. I mostly watch SVU if I have a moment of free time, but I also tune in and out when my mom watches the other ones.

And besides, Jeff Goldblum's in Criminal Intent. Hells yes.

Never could get into CSI, might be the lack of TV channels, might be the focus seems to be on special effects, might be laziness... but its not in my lineup, that's for sure.

CSI: Miami, i watch it every time i can. I don't like Law and order, i think it's kinda boring.

Law and Order is better, but there are lots of shows about crime that I enjoy at least as much, if not more.

Above both of those, I prefer NCIS. But between the two...it is hard to say. I have always enjoyed Law and Order and usually choose that, but recently I started watching CSI and although I do agree it is less "crime oriented," that very trait is what makes it a nice little break from the usual.

Neither.

I find procedural cop shows to be a tiresome bore and don't give them any of my time. Now Dexter, that's a show I can stand to watch. I don't think they are generally very popular in the UK a lot of them seem to be dumped on the second rate cheap channels people flick through on occasion, like channel 5.

But Cold Case trumps both of them.

Law and Order, both the original and SVU. I can't stand Criminal Intent for the same reason I can't stand CSI: they make it too apparent that it's a show. Hard to explain, but LaO and SVU make it feel...well, more real.
