I must disagree on keyboards. I'm a lefty, everything is fucked pretty much. but I think keyboards require both hands either way. I type 70wpm, being a lefty doesn't affect typing.

Right handed though I do use my left for certain things.

Being a left hand person means that your brain is wired differently. Your not 'smarter' per say its only that you go about doing things in a different approach. I could go into the whole science of it but I'm getting the feeling that no one here would really be interested in it. lol

being a lefty I actually find it quite fascinating...and, unfortunately, I am VERY different from everyone in the way my mind works...I have friends, but my mind cannot work in the "here and now" and instead is always calculating the "bigger picture stuff" which you would think would be amazing, actually it is quite frustrating when you try to do stuff, such as hang out with a girl...

Being a lefty means your mind is wired correctly.

In a right handed person its the left hand side of the brain that works the left hand and vice versa.

I'm right handed.

Fun Fact: While eating I like to switch the cutlery from hand to hand. No one seems to notice.
Me too. But it pisses my mum off.

I always thought it was wierd that I did everything except write right-handed, but wrote left-handed. I guess the poll results show I was incorrect.

And I severely doubt that which hand you use affects your creativity or lifespan.
Each half of your brain controls the equivalent opposite side in your body (e.g.The right side of your brain controls your left hand, kidney, testicle, etc.).

The left side of the brain is better at logical tasks, and the right side is better at creative tasks.

If one half of your brain is more dominant, that side will express better control over the half of the body that it is linked to. This is why people are left or right handed.

If one side is more dominant, it will also cause the mental abilities better performed by that side to be easier for the person, meaning that a person who has a more dominant right side will most likely be left handed and be more creative.

Understand now?

I'm right-handed, although I can play guitar either lefty-flip or rightways up.

Its the only thing I can do left-handed, I phail at everything else if I don't use my right.

I use my right hand for almost everything, however I crochet with my left hand. Weird but true....

I'm a lefty, through and through. And yes, most things are designed for righties. The only area where that really cheeses me off is the guitar department (being a bassist). Barring a specialty store (of which there is ONE in the US), there'll usually be between three and no left-handed guitars in any given music store.

Also rather annoying is the notion that the only difference between a lefty and righty guitarist is that a lefty _learned_ on a left-handed guitar. Which is bupkis, frankly.

And the left-handed rock band sounds awesome. Imagine Hendrix on guitar, McCartney on bass, and.... I dunno, some guy drumming.
Left handed shouldn't be a problem with guitar or bass just redo the strings the opposite way.

My entire right side is better at everything than my left side. This is because the left side of the brain (The smart one) Controls the right side of the body while the right side of the brain (The artsy one) Controls the left side. Hence more creative people are better on the left while more logical people are better on the right.

Right hand for most of the thing, but for weight lifting my left arm, opening cans too. Yeah, I noticed (well, my mother noticed) that I always use my left hand to open a can of tomatoes or something like that.

But in general, I'm trying to become ambidexterous, so maybe that's just my training giving results.

My family is split pretty much down the middle: my dad and one sister are left handed for everything (except golf, my dad plays golf right handed), while my mom, other sister, and myself are right handed for everything, no exceptions.

I play guitar with my left hand, but I do everything else with my right. I don't know why, but I've heard that the hand you play guitar on first is the one you'll play with for the rest of your life.

I favored my left hand for many things as a child, but leave it up to meddling teachers to 'correct' that 'defect', so now my right hand is the dominant one. I still use my left to paint and to play video games, though, so it worked out well enough for me.
I wonder if this obsession with Right-Dominance is part of some larger political agenda or if is it just business. More than likely, however, is that it is just more of that jokerless humor this universe keeps sending our way.
