I have a decent sum of 20 euro in my possessesion, both fallout:nv and a large chunk of mass effect 2's dlc are priced at 20 euro. I'm unsure of which option to get. Ive heard good things about mass effect 2's dlc but I also enjoyed fallout 3 a great deal. If anyone has played either it'd be mighty decent of you to leave an opinion. Cheers

You would probably get more game time/Enjoyability out of Fallout:NV, Well i guess that being said i would get more enjoyment out of it. So i shall lock in New Vegas as my vote.

Fallout New Vegas is better then Fallout 3, but I can't speak for Mass Effect DLC. I would reccomend New Vegas, but i'm not sure if I can really make a reccomendation. I did play the hell out of Fallout 3 and New Vegas though.

I say get Lair of the Shadown Broker for ME2, because it really is one of the best DLC I've ever bought....and because the New Vegas DLC that came out wasn't that good, imo. Too much like Mothership Zeta, not enough like Brotherhood of Steel.

Just the DLCs?

Even with the full ME2+DLCs I'd still have a hard time choosing (actually I'd go with ME2>FO:NV).

But DLCs alone? Definitely FO:NV all the way.

It comes down to whether you want an entirely new game or expanded content for a game you already own.

I would go with the DLC personally but only because I'm partially biased towards Mass Effect.

The full game of NV vs. ME2 DLCs?

Go with New Vegas. It's a fantastic game, and anyone who liked Fallout should play it.

As for the DLC, Lair of the Shadowbroker and Overlord are great, but the rest aren't anywhere near their standard. If possible, get New Vegas then those two when you can.

Arrival might be good, but we'll have to wait and see.

well since both option are cheap, you mine as well buy the one that will last longer until you can gather up the necessary sum to buy the other one. since fallout NV is well over 100 hours of game-play and overall is a pretty amazing game and experience i say go with fallout.
cant speak for the ME DLC. haven't played it...

I love ME2 and this seems a clear choice for me.
F:NV is a full game that improves greatly on FO3 in most areas.

Go for the game.

I just bought FO:NV myself and enjoy it. A lot of people have complained about bugs, but it seems the PC version has sorted most of them.

If you enjoyed FA3, I don't think you would be dissapointed with FA:NV. The story and the acting is better, the gameplay is largely the same with a few extra touches.

Lair of the Shadow Broker is outstanding.

Oh, wait. It's not New Vegas' DLc vs Mass Effect 2's. Well, always go with the full game. But you should really get Lair of the Shadow Broker. New Mass Effect 2 content is coming tomorrow (named Arrival). It seems like it will have some serious content as far as the story goes. I'm thinking it will join the group of must-have content.

The must-have Mass Effect 2 DLc:
-Lair of the Shadow Broker
-Overlord
-Kasumi

Maybe you want it, maybe you don't:
-Zaeed (I'm not really a fan of the character or his mission, but he has useful combat skills)
-Firewalker (it feels like a different game. That's not a good thing, in my opinion. However, it does provide some semblance of planetary exploration)
-Firepower, Equalizer, Aegis, Arc Projector, cerberus weapon and armor: Just weapons here. Take it or leave it.

You can skip it:
-Appearance packs
-Normandy crash site

Just because you liked Fallout 3 doesn't mean you'll like New Vegas. I hated Fallout 3 and loved New Vegas, and I've heard plenty of people say the opposite. You don't realize how different it is from Fallout 3 until you've played for 5-10 hours. Exploring is way different because enemies do not scale with you (I loved this, as it created scenarios where I was taking on enemies who were way above me on the food chain). It is also more focused on the story, as even the majority of the side quests relate to the main story. But this means you're not going to be able to do everything in the game (even if you try) until you play through it three or four times, making different decisions at certain points.

New Vegas. Story that actually fits into the fallout lore (oh this rant again) and numerous gameplay tweaks over fallout 3, though the buggyness differs from person to person.

Though I never played any of the mass effect games so I cant really say, but New Vegas was really good and one of my all time favourite games.

Do clarify, is it Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas DLC you're thinking about? The Fallout New Vegas DLC only costs 9,99 Euro, so you should still have enough for some Mass Effect 2 DLC*.

[sub]*I do not know how much Mass Effect 2 DLC costs; I do not play Mass Effect games.[/sub]

Mass Effect 2's DLC, especially the Lair of the Shadow Broker, is pretty damned sweet, but it still can't compare with a fully fledged game like Fallout:NV.

Are you sure that it's the whole game for 20 euros though? Was it in the bargain bin, or something?

Your excellent avatar hints at which choice to pick, but if we are talking about the main game of NV, get that. I didn't play it as much as FO3, but still got way more time out of it than the DLCs. DEFINITELY get LotSB at some point.

I disliked both games so my opinion may be jaded but...

Fallout New Vegas.

I assume you talk of the game not the DLC which is also pretty interesting. If you like the setting of Fallout, get that. You'll get more of your money's worth than with ME.

And the exploration has improved, in my opinion, over Fallout 3. As did the NPCs.
