Poll: mst3k Joel or Mike?+best episodes

so kinda in response to movie bob, id always thought that liking mst3k was something i was alone in, finding out i have been a "misty" for the last 16 years or something was a revelation, then finding that others actually like Joel and dare even in thought or by vocalization compare joel to mike, i was spurred into action.


so after my unbiased introduction i will follow up with a question, whats your favorite episodes?
im gonna take these as recommendations regardless of the host so Joel fans have a chance of redeeming my opinions of him.

my recommendations would be: the prince of space, puma man and Santa clause versus the Martians

I like both but, while Joel was good with props and stuff like that, Mike was the better actor and better with voices.

I definitely prefer Joel to Mike, but I still loved the show after Joel stepped out off the screen. My favorite episode was the Gamera episode, if only for Tom Servo's love song to Tibby the Turtle.

Too many great episodes to pick a favorite.

As far as hosts go....I liked Mike better. He just seemed to be ever so slightly a better actor. With that said, I have nothing against Joel or the episodes he was in. I miss MST3K so much.

I like both Joel and Mike, but I'm more often in a "Mike mood" than a "Joel mood".

My favourite episode has to be Prince of Space. The first time I watched it I found myself rolling around on the floor in fits of giggles. And Jack Frost, but that's more a fondness thing as it was the first episode I watched when I was a kid. :3

For me, it's Mike. I still love and respect Joel, but Mike's comedic delivery and chemistry with the robots suits my tastes better. (That said, I far prefer Clayton/TV's Frank and the invention exchange to Pearl/Bobo/Observer.)

As far as recommendations, some of my personal favorites include:

Prince of Space
Mitchell
Final Justice

(Those last two are preferably watched back-to-back as a Joe Don Baker double feature.)

Finally, Manos the Hands of Fate is unimaginably painful but is nonetheless required as a rite of passage into fandom.

I don't know, I've never really given it much thought. I've only seen a limited number of episodes, only the ones I've been able to dig up on DVD and on Netflix.
...I think I like Mike better, having given it some thought. He puts on a better performance. Not that's Joel's bad or anything. It could also have something to do with the fact that my first exposure to MST3K was the feature film, which of course featured Mike.
As for episodes, I did enjoy the episode, damn I can't remember what it's called now, but it featured a parallel universe, with Evil Mike and Evil Servo. That was hilarious.
